HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 9:00 & 10:45A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER Chronological Bible Reading: Jeremiah 19-21; Hebrews 1 Monday, October 28 Job 1:5 And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually. Holy Father: Job was a patriarch, a founding father of those who belong to God by faith. So, what he did in early morning and after family feasts, let me do on behalf of the lost souls I come in contact with. Let me rise up today and sanctify themby setting them apart in my prayer. Let me also offer the living sacrifice of my life to reach them, according to the number of them all. In the middle of Fall it would be easy to forget the state of their souls. But it may be they have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Holy Spirit, let me be the priest and intercessor who will turn Gods heart back toward __________ and __________, because they need to be saved today! 1 Pet. 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Let me not be forgetful of my high calling as a believer-priest. I cannot be idle, like others. I have a job to do. It is the sacrifice that sanctifies. Lord, help them put away their ignorance and carelessness and flee to Christ, the sacrifice. I should come to the same sacrifice continually on their behalf. It wont save them, but let it set them apart for your special attention. It is the privilege of a royal priesthood to live at the altar. Then, even as great as sin is, it is no cause for despair because the sin-atoning Jesus has cleansed every guilty stain. Rom. 12:1 present your bodies a living sacrifice which is your reasonable service. A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING Chronological Bible Reading: Jeremiah 28-30; Hebrews 4 Thursday, October 31 Matt. 15:28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour. TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS PRAYER LIFE Chronological Bible Reading: Jeremiah 22-24; Hebrews 2 Tuesday, October 29 John 17:24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. My Father and Glorious Lord: There is nothing in the world I would rather do than behold the glory of Christ in your word. Thats what fuels my fervency. As David said, Psa. 39:3 My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then spake I with my tongue, While pondering your word, joy always results. Give me the patience to really meditate on what I have read and what it means, because pondering your word IS beholding your glory. Afterwards give me the boldness to share it! Col. 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Lord, I want to live in your word as a light to the lost. Give me grace to seek-out every scripture I need, to help me dwell richly in this life of Christ I now live in. Let me pay the price to retain those truths in my heart as a great treasure. How I praise you that it rejoices Jesus to let us see his joy, and it is glory to us to behold his glory. How much more when we see him face to face! 2 Cor. 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. Help me read, study, memorize, ponder and retain your wordmusing and meditatingbecause then I am beholding Christs glory and am changed into that glory by the Holy Spirit. And then others will be drawn to Christ through my life. So I ask this according to your will and in Jesus glorious name. Amen. FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY Chronological Bible Reading: Jeremiah 31-33; Hebrews 5 Friday, November 1 Eph. 2:21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: We Praise You, O Lord: We praise for your original purpose of love to fallen men and women. You made a distinction between us and the angels who sinned. You are mindful of our salvation, yet allow angels to perish forever without redemption. We thank you for choosing so many of us out of the world, and giving those who are saved into the hand of Christ. We thank you for revealing this mercy in various pictures and promises in the Old Testament, how in the fullness of time you sent your own Son to take our nature upon himself, and redeem us by his death. Amazing! We give the glory to your justice and your grace for this work of terror and compassionthis work of reconciling sinners to yourself by the punishment of your Son. Truly we are not worthy, and we praise you for the gospel you shout to the world as we fulfill your eternal purpose, for it is truly good news of pardon and peace. Lord, you have confirmed it with such abundant testimonies so as to raise and establish our faith. We give glory to that power of yours that preserved the gospel through all the ages, and through ten thousand oppositions of Satan. You delivered it safe down to our age, and put us in trust of the faith. Help us proclaim the glad tidings of peace between God and man to all nations. We bless you that you have built a temple for yourself in us. We thank you we are born into such a land of light and freedom as thisall the more our responsibility to proclaim the gospel to the world. We give you thanks for your goodness in our preservation from many dangers we could never foresee, and therefore could not ask you to prevent. We are infinitely indebted to you for your grace to our children. So we humbly bow and adore you in prayer. Amen. WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING Chronological Bible Reading: Jeremiah 25-27; Hebrews 3 Wednesday, October 30 Rom. 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof. Gracious Lord: The sufferings of Jesus have been added to my account. His merits count for me, and his righteousness has become mine. The best dress I can wear is to put on the Lord Jesus Christ. Make me loathe the filthy rags of my sin. In my mind I know I am defiled, but I do not yet have in my emotions a true abhorrence of that defilement. Bring it to my heart today, for that will bring revival. I want to love God and long to be like God. Breed a new repentance in my faithbecause the death of Christ will bring death to my sins. I want to die to sin because of his death for my sin. Only Christ can give me power to be holy, I confess. To be patient, longsuffering, gracious and forgiving is something I can only learn from watching Jesus. He will teach me how to be excited about spiritual things, and heroic in standing up for him. In Christ I can deny myself. In Christ I can keep from making provision for the flesh. There is no such matchless power for true revival as simple faith in Christ. Help me walk worthy of the garment I now wear! I will put him on as Lord , becoming his servant, letting him be Master I will put him on as Jesus , acknowledging him as the only Savior I will put him on as Christ , anointed from God through the Holy Spirit for every act of ministry Not just my Savior; you are my Commander. You are my Christ, anointing me for service. I take a whole Christ today. May others see nothing of me, but much of Jesus my Lord. Make him increase as I decrease, because that is the result of revival, and so it will please God. Amen. SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS Chronological Bible Reading: Jeremiah 34-36; Hebrews 6 Saturday, November 2 Psa. 76:1 In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel. Great God and Mighty Father: You may be unknown in the world at large, but you have so revealed yourself to me by deeds of grace, that you are not unknown to me. To know you is to honor you; I know your name and therefore admire its greatness. Lord, I pray for my friends and acquaintances who are still in darkness. They know you not, and therefore blaspheme you. To them your name is simply a convenient way to swear. Give me passion to proclaim your fame and faithfulness to them! Isa. 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD. I glory in the knowledge that you inhabit my life through the Holy Spirit. So all attacks by the Enemy are futile in the end. Psa. 76:10 Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain. Haters may breathe their threats against me, but they are simply blowing the trumpet of your fame when they do. Their furious winds simply drive me more swiftly into port. The Devil blows the fire, but it only melts the metal, so you can mold it into your Sons image. You make it a priority to right all my wrongs. My Avenger is strong; surely you will care for me. Evil will be overruled for your praise. Cause my life to lift up your name for all nations as I fulfill the eternal purpose of God. Whatever else you get out of me, make my life a testimony to the goodness of the Lord, and the grace that is in the Lord Jesus. Amen.

MARVELOUS grace of our loving Lord, grace that exceeds our sin and our
guilt! Yonder on Calvarys mount outpoured, there where the blood of the Lamb was spilt. Sin and despair, like the sea waves cold, threaten the soul with infinite loss; Grace that is greater, yes, grace untold, points to the refuge, the mighty cross. Dark is the stain that we cannot hide. What can avail to wash it away? Look! There is flowing a crimson tide, brighter than snow you may be today. Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace, freely bestowed on all who believe! You that are longing to see His face, will you this moment His grace receive? Grace, grace, Gods grace, grace that will pardon and cleanse within; Grace, grace, Gods grace, grace that is greater than all our sin.

PRAYER DIARY

1)

TIMEWORSHIP Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily devotions. 2) TITHEWORK 1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our resources. 3) TEAMWORD Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the same things over and over. This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you through the Bible chronologically in a year. Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying. Alan

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had prayed. Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition. God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son. Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
