Tinas Birthday Party Preparation

Tomorrow, 20th December, is Tinas birthday. Today, Tina is going to prepare everything for her birthday party, so Tina, her brother, Rio, and Tinas mother work together to prepare many things. Tina and Rio work together to decorate living room and Tinas mother makes birthday cake. After Tina and Rio decorate the living room, they make invitation cards for Tinas friends. When they are making invitation cards, suddenly there is noise from the kitchen. Then they run into the kitchen and they see Catty, Rios cat, and Bruno, Tinas dog are fighting. Catty jumps into the birthday cake on the dining table. They are surprised and look each other for a moment. Tina cries, but her mother calms her down by saying It is ok Tina. We will make another birthday cake but you have to buy the ingredients for making birthday cake in the market. Can you help me to go to the market to buy the ingredients?. Then Tina and Rio go to the market to buy the birthday cake ingredients. Their mother gives the list of what they have to buy such as flour, egg, sugar, milk, and butter. After Tina and Rio have bought the ingredients, they are back to the home and make the birthday cake together.

Pre activity/ bridging knowledge Teachers should explore the picture provided in the students book. The student should answer the questions as the following: 1. Do you know where picture take place? 2. Do you know what they are doing? 3. Have you ever had a birthday party? 4. What are the things that you need when you have a birthday party? (for the rest question, teacher should explore picture by themselves and do the same things for the second picture.)

Listening Activity 1 In this activity, teacher will tell a story to the students, and then the students are going to ask to write down items mentioned in the story. After that the students should find the items by cut the pictures on the next page and paste it in the listening worksheet. This activity also aims to introduce the recycled and new vocabularies that are going to be used in unit 1.

Here is the story: I have a little friend. Her name is Tina. She is in six grade. Tomorrow is Tinas birthday. She wants to have a birthday party, so Tina and her mother need to prepare everything.
