From the Pastors Desk

In Vienna in Austria there is a church in which the former ruling family in Austria, the Hapsburgs, are buried. When royal funerals used to arrive the mourners knocked at the door of the church to be allowed in. A priest inside would ask Who is it that desires admission here? A guard would call out, His apostolic majesty, the emperor. The priest would answer, I dont know him. They would knock a second time, and again the priest would ask who was there. The funeral guard outside would announce, The highest emperor. A second time the priest would say, I dont know him. A third time they would knock on the door and the priest would ask Who is it? The third time the answer would be, A poor sinner, your brother. The progression in the questions and answers of the former Austrian royal family show a progression to humility, a progression to the stance of the tax-collector in Jesus parable today. There is some of the pride of the Pharisee and some of the humility of the tax-collector in each of us. Each of us, to a greater or lesser degree, is called by Jesus in todays Gospel to make that journey from pride to humility. We ask for volunteers, for new Lectors, Eucharistic ministers, participants in different prayer groups and ministries: Catholic Womens Club; Golden Club; Parish Welcoming Ministry; Peace Prayer Service; Divine Mercy Chaplet; Society for Social Concern; Sacred Heart Prayer Group; Respect Life Group; Padre Pio Groups; Bereavement Ministry; School Parents Association; School Advisory Board; Knights of Columbus; Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers; Religious Education; RCIA; Crafters; Choir members; Greeters; Ushers; Marian Movement of Priests; Scouting; Italian Catholic Federation; and Our Lady of Czestochowa etc. Your willingness to be active members of our parish family would be a beautiful gift on the Parish Feast. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ This form may be dropped in the collection basket, given to the rectory or Parish Council Member if you are interested in joining a Ministry. RUMMAGE SALE RESULTS

Through the generosity of the many people that donated usable clothing and household items and with the hard work of our wonderful volunteers, we were able to help hundreds of families with exceptionally low prices on these clothes and items. The remaining articles were donated to the Epilepsy Foundation where further good will come from them. Also, we made a net profit of $5,654. for our parish. Thank you to the many people involved with the rummage sale. We would not have been able to do all this good without you. We will be sponsoring another rummage sale shortly after Easter. Gratefully, The Parish Pastoral Council

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, When we started the To Teach Who Christ Is Campaign several weeks ago I was wondering if this campaign will effect our regular offerings in any way, especially that as you know, we are not meeting our weekly budget almost every weekend. Last weekend proved that it is possible for us to reach our weekly budget even though we are doing the campaign. I want to thank you for your generosity and I want to say that you can be very proud of yourselves as I am. We thank those who already made their commitments to our Campaign and we remind you that you can wait for the reminders to come in the mail making your irst payments following the instructions given by the Archdiocese. After you receive the instructions in the mail, payments will be mailed to the Archdiocese as they hold our parishs account for the Campaign and they will send us report updates systematically. The money collected will be released by the Archdiocese to fund the projects mentioned in the Campaign case. The success of our Campaign depends on the participation of us To Teach Who Christ Is Campaign all. So far we received 557 pledges out of 2500 attending Masses every weekend. $750,000.00 Yours in Christ,
