Dear Sirs,

Here is our analysis determining the causes of problem decline in sales

and profit of EMERON shampoo. In the preparation of report I have
tried to cover all those aspects which restricts the high sales of Emeron
shampoo. The details are as follows

HIGH PRICE AND COMPETITION:

Since the market is highly competitive and the company does not
enjoy the monopolistic characterstics and features in its product high
prices have caused decline in sales. The market is saturated with local
and smuggled goods selling at low prices

INADEQUATE ADVERTISEMENT:

Advertising competition also exists in the industry but the company

does not respond to this dire need. In Pakistan advertising, especially
T.V advertising, is very effective means to promote goods and services.
Not only advertising but also other promotional means have not been
properly responded. If this policy continues, the sales volume and profit
of the company are likely to be encounter further fall.

HIGH AMOUNT OF BAD DEBTS:

Although liberal credit policy has increased sales to some extend and
neutralize the impact of high prices, competition and inadequate
advertising, it has increased the level of bad debts offsetting all the
gains. In other words this policy has failed to increase the sales
significantly and has resulted in the hike of bad debts causing the net
profit to fall. If the company does not whip up to take countering
action, further increase in bad debts may be around the corner.
