10 Frame Addition
Cover number cubes with contact paper. Put together using clear tape. Each student will need a number cube and an activity sheet. Student rolls cube and fills in the ten frame with the number rolled. The student uses the information from the ten frame to form an addition problem using the addend from the cube and supplying the missing addend.

Shaking Addition
Each student will need 10 manipulatives that are a different color on each side. If you do not have these you can use beans that have been spray painted on one side. Student puts the 10 manipulatives in a cup. They shake and pour, then separate the two colors. They write the number of each color in the two circles. They then use the numbers to write a number sentence that equals 10.

Spinning Addition Facts


Copy spinners on vellum (tag board). I like to back my spinners with cardboard. Cover with contact paper or laminate. Using scissors carefully put a hole in the center of the spinner. On a brad put a pony bead and jumbo paper clip. Thread brad into the spinner. I put a piece of tape over the brad in the back. Each student needs a spinner and activity sheet. The student spins the spinner and writes the number for the first addend. The students then spins the spinner again and writes that number for the second addend. The students solves the addition problem.
