CREDITS ROLL DOWN THE SCREEN WITH THEME MUSIC CAST Richard 30 Good physique. 6 feet tall. Short brown hair. Well spoken gentleman. Sophie 32 Nice petite figure. 5 feet 2 inches tall. Shoulder length brown hair. Good but sometimes broken English. Very polite but sometimes very forward. Serbian Officer Davor 65 and scary voice. Heavy build. 5 feet 9 inches tall. Bald head. Very angry

Serbian Sergent Savo 35 Good physique. 6 feet 4 inches tall. Very polite. Speaks perfect English. Spirit of Little Girl (April) 7 Tiny petite little girl. Blonde hair and blue eyes. Very intelligent. Frank 61 fat bald journalist. John 27 Slim athletic journalist.

INT OFFICE DAY DEPRESSING Small damp office. Windows blinded shut. FLICKERING LIGHTS and SOUND of flies humming. RICHARD sits unpacking his papers at his desk in the corner of the office. RICHARD So lads...how long do you think this war is going to last? FRANK Well it isn't a war really...think about it. Don't you think the main news channels would have been out here if this was serious? JOHN Good point... Gun shots BLARE inside the building down below. DANNY (frightened) What's goin on? RICHARD Jesus i don't know... Everybody stands shocked. SOUND of SOLDIERS stampeding up the stairs.Everyone STARES at each other worried. SOLDIERS burst through the door. Richard takes cover under his desk while the soldiers OPEN FIRE on the rest of the group. The screen goes blank JUMP CUTS TO INT-OFFICE EVENING RICHARD comes out from under his desk to find his friends dead.Richard creeps out the room. EXT-SIDE ALLY EVENING RICHARD sneaking through an ally when he sees two soldiers beating a woman and then shooting her in the head.RICHARD runs and the soldiers chase him.SOPHIE out of nowhere grabs Richard.She takes him to a ruined building.

INT-RUINED BUILDING EVENING Restaurant riddled with bullets and broken tables. They go behind the counter. SOPHIE pulls up a piece of flooring and takes Richard down. The flooring closes over them. INT-CELLAR EVENING Wine cellar with lanterns. SOPHIE sits at the table in the middle of the room. SOPHIE You are English? RICHARD takes a seat at the table. RICHARD Yeah... SOPHIE I'm Sophie... RICHARD Didn't expect this... SOPHIE You're a reporter in a war torn Country...what did you expect? RICHARD How did you know i was reporting? SOPHIE It's not very often a group of Englishmen come for vacation in a shit hole like this... RICHARD (smiles) You speak good English... SOPHIE I studied in England before my parents died and left me this restaurant... RICHARD Sorry to here about your parents... SOPHIE That's okay...how about you...you have a family? RICHARD Yeah...a wife and two children... SOPHIE When's the last time you spoke to them? RICHARD I was supposed to phone tonight but i have left my phone in the office... SOPHIE Never mind... Sophie gets up and lays in the corner on a blanket. SOPHIE I'm going to sleep. see you tomorrow.

Richard gets comfortable in his chair and closes his eyes. JUMP CUTS TO INT CELLAR MORNING SOPHIE sits at the table and watches RICHARD modestly cleaning his upper torso with a wet flannel. SOPHIE I haven't seen a man wash like a little boy before... RICHARD dresses himself and sits at the table. Sophie REACHE'S over and takes Richards hands. SOPHIE Do you like me? RICHARD Yeah...you're a very attractive woman... SOPHIE stands and starts undressing. Richard stands and stops her. RICHARD I've told you i'm married...sorry but i just can't do this... Sophie sits. SOPHIE (smiles) Sorry... RICHARD Don't worry...this is a wine cellar right? SOPHIE Yeah.... RICHARD I could really do with a drink right now... Sophie picks a bottle from the shelf along with two glass's and sits back down. TIME LAPSE Sophie and Richard going through a couple of bottles of wine. CUTS TO RICHARD sits talking to his glass of wine. CUTS TO Sophie sprawled across the table unconscious. Richard picks Sophie up and lays her down on the blanket. Richard lays with her. INT CELLAR MORNING RICHARD is awaken by the SOUND OF FOOTSTEPS above in the restaurant. Richard wakes Sophie. RICHARD (whispers) Be quiet but i think someone is in the restaurant... SOPHIE (whispers) I can't hear anything... SOPHIE stands and looks through the floorboards

SOPHIE'S (POV) TWO SOLDIERS talking above the cellar.. SOLDIER ONE We have to catch the English journalist or we are dead... SOLDIER TWO He can't be far... A soldiers looks down at the floor. SOLDIER ONE Is that what i think it is... SOLDIER ONE leans down as if to touch the floor.SOUND of AN EXPLOSION close to the restaurant.The soldiers quickly leave the building. SOPHIE panics and hugs Richard. SOPHIE (emotional) We have to get out of here tonight... RICHARD (calm) Okay... wait until the early hours of the morning. EARLY HOURS OF MORNING INT- RESTAURANT NIGHT RICHARD and SOPHIE watching out the window discreetly. SOPHIE It's so quiet out there... RICHARD Where are we going to go? SOPHIE There is a forest behind this building...it is miles long... RICHARD Where will it take us? SOPHIE Away from here... RICHARD That's good enough... CUTS TO EXT - FOREST NIGHT Richard and Sophie running at speed through the forest. A MONTAGE Sophie and Richard running side stream on some rocks. Running on a narrow path. Finally they stop at a lakeside. They sit on a fallen tree. SOPHIE I'm cold... RICHARD gives Sophie his Jacket.

SOPHIE Thanks... RICHARD Where do you think we are? Sophie laughs. RICHARD It was a stupid question wasn't it... RICHARD stands and has a walk around. Sophie prods her bloody knee. SOPHIE I fell quite badly... SOPHIE looks around to find that Richard has disappeared. She jumps up worried. SOPHIE Richard.... RICHARD (OFF SCREEN) Sophie come here... SOPHIE: Where are you? SOPHIE walks towards the bushes. RICHARD jumps out and scares her. SOPHIE (Breathing heavy) You stupid idiot... RICHARD hugs Sophie. RICHARD: Come with me...i have a surprise... RICHARD takes Sophie's hand and takes her through the bushes. CUTS TO EXT GARDEN/LARGE HOUSE MORNING Garden surrounded by the forest. Children's swings and a slide. Two storey house with wooden porch. The lights are off. SOPHIE Looks creepy...i don't like this place already... RICHARD Come on...lets head back... RICHARD heads back to the forest. SOPHIE stops Richard. RICHARD Don't worry...i was only joking... SOPHIE Do you really want to check it out? RICHARD

Yeah sure... RICHARD and SOPHIE cautiously walk to the front door of The house. They stand on the porch. SOPHIE Well... RICHARD Okay... Richard knocks the door. Inside the house echos. RICHARD Sounds empty... RICHARD turns the handle and opens the door. They walk in the house. INT-HOUSE DAY Old fashioned furniture. Cobwebs and dust every where. SOPHIE It smells funny... RICHARD Yeah...guess the house has been abandoned... SOPHIE Hello...is anybody here... They wait patiently for an answer.. RICHARDS Shall we look up stairs? CUTS TO INT- UPSTAIRS/HOUSE MORNING Narrow landing with three closed doors. They enter the first door. RICHARD Ladies before gentlemen. CUTS TO- BEDROOM Spacious bedroom with a wardrobe, drawers, dressing table and mirror and a four poster bed with nets covering the sides. RICHARD looks through the draws.SOUND of screaming. CUTS TO-SOPHIE looking at the netting around the bed. RICHARD What's wrong? SOPHIE (shivering) Look behind the nets... RICHARD pulls the nets aside.TWO SKELETONS laying together in their bride and groom wedding outfits. RICHARD takes Sophie out the room.

CUTS TOINT-LANDING RICHARD I think we should leave that room alone...

MORNING

RICHARD opens the next door and they walk in. CUTS TOINT-BEDROOM MORNING CHILDREN'S ROOM with girls dolls and rocking horse. CUTS TO- BED with pink flowery blanket. RICHARD Shall we... SOPHIE (smiles) Okay... SOPHIE dives on the bed. Richard lays with her. They snuggle up together. LATER THAT DAY Richard and Sophie fast asleep. SOPHIE wakes sweating and panting. JUMP CUTS TO INT--KITCHEN MORNING Sophie standing at the kitchen sink drinking water from a glass. CUTS TO-SOPHIE'S (POV) A LITTLE GIRL playing on the swing in the garden. Sophie waves to the girl and the girl waves back. SOPHIE walks out to the garden. EXT-GARDEN MORNING The girl stands at the entrance of the forest and signals for Sophie to follow. The girl skips into the forest and Sophie follows. CUTS TOEXT-FOREST MORNING Sophie looks up the forest path to see the girl standing pointing into the bushes beside her, SOPHIE What is it? The girl slowly walks into the bushes. Sophie walks up the path. SOUND of DISTRESSFUL SCREAMING coming from the bushes. Sophie turns back and runs to the house. CUTS TOINT HOUSE/BEDROOM MORNING Sophie PACES into the bedroom and SHAKES Richard. SOPHIE I think a little girl is in trouble. RICHARD What do you mean? SOPHIE There was a little girl playing on the swing in the garden and... RICHARD INTERRUPTS. RICHARD Sophie come and lay down... you're probably just imagining things...we've had a long night...

SOPHIE No Richard come and see please because this girl is in danger.... EXT- FOREST PATH MORNING Sophie and Richard stand at the bush where the girl entered. RICHARD I told you. You just need some sleep... SOPHIE (shrugs) Maybe you're right... TWO WEEKS LATER INT-LIVING ROOM/HOUSE Richard and Sophie looking through a PHOTO ALBUM. Sophie stops Richard from turning the page. SOPHIE This is the little girl i saw in the garden.... CLOSE UP of PICTURE. RICHARD I thought we went over this before Sophie? SOPHIE I know we did but it was so real to be an imagination..... Richard smiles and walks into the kitchen. SOPHIE You think I'm crazy don't you? RICHARD (off screen) No I just think we should forget about the little girl for a day.... Sophie lays across the sofa and closes her eyes. INT- KITCHEN DAY Richard watching curiously out the window. RICHARDS (POV) A LITTLE GIRL sitting on the swing. RICHARD (to himself) Oh my god...she's right.... Richard walk out to the garden. EXT-GARDEN DAY Richard stands at the door. CUTS TO-LITTLE GIRL runs to the entrance of the forest. RICHARD Hello little girl... what is your name? The girl signals for Richard to follow. The girl skips into the forest. Richard paces after her. EXT-FOREST DAY DAY

RICHARDS (POV) GIRL standing up the path next to the same bushes as before. The girl points into the bushes. RICHARD Come here little girl...it's not safe for you to be out here alone.... The girl disappears into the bushes. Richard walks up the path cautiously. SOUND of DISTRESSFUL SCREAMING from the bushes. Richards runs into the bushes. CUTS TO EXT- BUSHES DAY A PATCH of ground surrounded by bushes. A GRID with handle waiting to be opened stares at Richard. Richard pulls open the grid to reveal a hole. A LADDER leads down. Richard takes the ladder and starts climbing down. INT- HOUSE EVENING SOPHIE awakes and stretches. She pulls herself of the sofa and calls for Richard. No answer. INT-UPSTAIRS/HOUSE EVENING Sophie looks in the bedroom. She looks through the drawers to find news papers. The papers dating back twenty three years. There is a picture of the little girl from the back garden. She is missing. Sophie reads through a couple of others. The last paper says 'police give up search for little girl. Sophie goes over to the bed and looks at the skeletons. She touches the lady skeleton's forehead and the skeleton grabs Sophie's arm. SKELETON Find our little girl The skeleton lets go of Sophie. Sophie shivers and walks backwards slowly out the room. INT- HOLE EVENING Richard climbing down the ladder. He reaches the bottom. The room is dimly lit by a lantern on the wall. Light beams through the bottom of a door in front. Richard opens the door. INT-HALLWAY Richard standing at the beginning of a long narrow corridor with doors on each side. RICHARD What the hell is this? Richard creeps slowly forward. He comes to the first door. He tries the handle and it's locked. Richard gets halfway up the hallway has so far failed to find an open door. INT-KITCHEN/HOUSE EVENING Sophie anxiously watching out the window. SOPHIE (POV) LITTLE GIRL at the forest entrance.Sophie runs out into the garden. EXT-GARDEN The girl signals for Sophie to follow her. The girl skips in the forest and Sophie follows. EXT-FOREST The little girl signals for Sophie to follow as she creeps into the bushes. Sophie

paces towards the bushes but this time no screaming. Sophie enters the bushes and THE LITTLE GIRL is standing above the open grid. She points down the hole. THE GIRL Save my dignity. The girl disappears. Sophie starts to climb down the ladder. As she is half way down she slips and falls. She is knocked unconscious as she hits the bottom. INT-FIRST CORRIDOR/UNDERGROUND LAYER Richard has come to the end of the corridor. On the wall is arrows signalling left and right.He looks both ways. Both corridors are narrow and have closed doors all the way down.SOUND of SCRATCHING coming from the first room in the right corridor. Richard approaches the door. The door opens slowly. Richard walks nervously in the room and the door closes behind him. INT-ENTRANCE/UNDERGROUND LAYER Sophie awakes dazed. She looks up SOPHIE (POV) A MAN in military uniform standing above the grid. He's looking down at Sophie. MAN Are you okay? Sophie pulls herself of the ground and shakes herself off. SOPHIE I don't know... MAN What are you doing down there? Sophie looks around confused and then realises. SOPHIE (whispers) Oh no Richard... Sophie looks up. SOPHIE Are you a soldier? The man climbs down the ladder. THE MAN Yeah but don't worry... I know all about your friend... I'm here to warn you. The man reaches the bottom. Sophie stands shaking. THE MAN... Hey calm down The man shakes Sophie's hand. THE MAN Savo...and you... SOPHIE (stutters) Sophie....

SAVO (smiles) Chill out...I'm a rebel fighting against the military...i have come to warn you about a complete mad man. Officer Davor. He's old but still strong. There is a reward for the English journalist and he wants the loot. He was a rebel until he heard about the reward. SOPHIE (sighs) Okay...how did you find me down here? SAVO I'm a tracker. i was originally tracking Davor until i found other tracks and got curious...i thought if Davor is close to here then he must have been close to the Englishman...Davor is an evil man...he will torture anyone helping the Englishman and god knows what he would do with a young attractive woman like yourself SOPHIE (blushes) Thanks SAVO Where is your friend? SOPHIE I think he maybe down here somewhere SAVO i guess we better go through that door then.... INT-ROOM/UNDERGROUND RICHARD stands at the doorway of a small dimly lit room. RICHARD (POV) CHAR BONES in the middle of the floor.Chairs and empty beer bottle cover the floor. MILITARY UNIFORMS hanging neatly on hangers in an open cabinet. RICHARD Sick bastards who ever these people are.... Richard walks across the room stepping over the char bones. He pulls a curtain across to reveal a window. RICHARD (POV) through the window into a room. AN OPERATING ROOM with A NAKED MAN on top. His stomach is open and intestines showing. RICHARD What the hell's going on down here? Richard stands away from the window and looks around the room. On closer examination Richard spots another door under a flag on the other wall. He opens the door. It leads out to another corridor. INT-SECOND CORRIDOR Same as first corridor except the doors are numbered and coloured yellow. Richard slowly walks along the corridor.

INT-FIRST CORRIDOR Sophie and Savo walking along corridor. SOPHIE Do you know much about this place? SAVO No not at all...i didn't even know that anyone even lived in the forest...i think this underground basement could be the government conspiracy people were talking about a few years ago.... SOPHIE What do you mean conspiracy? SAVO People were going missing and apparently there was an underground layer the government used for human experiments.... SOPHIE You're joking right... SAVO I wish I was...don't worry. that was more than twenty years ago... SOPHIE Kinda creepy hey? SAVO Yeah...anyway how do you know the Englishman? They come to the end of the corridor. They see the first door that is ajar. They enter. INT-ROOM It's the same room as Richard walked into. Savo is looking at the military uniforms. SAVO Oh my god.... SOPHIE What... SAVO This is my fathers platoon....i recognise some of these names.... Savo holds up one of the uniforms and sobs. SOPHIE What's wrong... SAVO This my fathers uniform... Savo looks at the char remains. SAVO (angry) I bet Davor had something to do with this... SOPHIE How do you know?

SAVO Because he knew my father and was good friends with my fathers Commander.... Sophie spots the door under the flag. SOPHIE Come on lets see what's through here. Savo wears his fathers military combat jacket. INT-SECOND CORRIDOR Richard walking along the corridor. He sees THE LITTLE GIRL at the end of the hallway in front of a door. She is holding the door handle. Richard halts and stares at her. The girl turns and looks at Richard. GIRL Hello mister... RICHARD (gulps) Hello little one. what's your name? GIRL April...what's yours?.... RICHARD Richard...what is in that room? April looks past Richard with a worried look. Richard looks back. RICHARD (POV) Empty corridor. Richard looks back towards April. She's disappeared. RICHARD Hmm Richard down by his side. April is holding Richards hand. Richard freezes. Aprils beautiful face looking up at him. APRIL Don't be scared. I'm only a little girl... Richard is speechless. April points at the door at the end of the hallway. APRIL In there is where the bad man took me. RICHARD (trembling) What man? April's eyes roll back and she starts shaking. April screams very loud and then disappears. Richard stands in a state of shock. Sophie frightens the hell out of Richard as she stands behind him. RICHARD Oh my god.. SOPHIE Are you okay?

RICHARD (sighs) Didn't you just see that? SOPHIE No what? RICHARD (sighs) I need a drink Richard hugs Sophie. Richard acknowledges Savo. SOPHIE Oh this is Savo... Savo shakes Richards hand. RICHARD Nice to meet you. you with the army? SAVO (smiles) Don't worry. I've explained to Sophie. I'm here to help you both. Richard points to the door at the end of the hallway. RICHARD That little girl you seen in the garden.... SOPHIE (look of relief) You saw her? RICHARD (smiles) Yeah...her name is April... Richard takes Sophie aside alone. RICHARD (whispers) I think she's a ghost... SOPHIE (snigger's) What...have you been at the mushrooms from the forest? RICHARD Don't be stupid. Richard points to the door at the end of the corridor. Savo joins Richard and Sophie RICHARD There is something behind that door... SAVO Could be anything.

They walk to the door. Richard tries the handle and can't open it. Savo pulls out his hand gun from a holster. CLOSE UP on Savo as he shoots his gun at the door. RICHARD (OFF SCREEN) Bad shot mate... Savo falls to the floor to reveal AN AGEING MAN in military uniform pointing his gun. Savo on the floor holding his chest. Richard and Sophie with their hands held high. SAVO (coughs blood) Davor. why did you kill my father and the rest of the men? DAVOR Because they were traitorous shits that's why...i hate traitors. Davor shoots Savo in the head. Richard tackles Davor. Sophie runs back towards the way they entered. Richard and Davor are fighting on the floor. Davor gets the better of Richard. Davor stands over Richard and pulls the trigger. The gun has jammed and Richard kicks Davor between the legs. Richard scrambles to his feet and chases after Sophie. Davor struggling to walk. He hobbles down the corridor in pursuit of Richard and Sophie. INT- ENTRANCE Sophie starts to climb the ladder and falls and twists her ankle as she hits the ground. Sophie screams. Richard tries to calm her. DAVOR (off screen) Don't worry my darling...I'm on my way RICHARD Shit. Richard looks at the shadowed corner. RICHARD Stay in the shadow...i will be back after i kill that crazy old man... Richard helps Sophie to the shadowed corner. Richard heads back down the corridor. Sophie sobs in the darkness. INT- FIRST CORRIDOR Complete silence as Richard creeps along the corridor. He comes to the end and goes into the first room. INT- ROOM Richard looking at the char bones of the floor. RICHARD Poor men. SOUND of a generator starting and the lights flicker. DAVOR (off screen-close to the room) Where are you my English friend. I wont bite (laughing).

Richard panics as he looks for hard objects. THE GENERATORS STOPS and everything is silent. Richard stands in the middle of the room holding his breath. Richard resumes looking for a weapon. He looks among the cloths rack with the military uniforms. Richard finds a lead pipe. He stands proud and the A FLASH OF LIGHT. INT-OPERATING ROOM RICHARD'S (POV) BAT OF EYE LIDS. Blurry vision. CUTS TO- Richard laying semi naked on an operating table. His arms and legs stretched and strapped. SOUND of DRIPPING. RICHARD Oh know. this don't look good... Richard tries wiggling but can't get out of the straps. The door opens slowly. In comes DAVOR. He walks in while snapping on a pair of plastic gloves. Davor pulls Richards bottom eye lip down and shines his torch in his eye. DAVOR How are you feeling? RICHARD (trembling) Could be better. What do you want from me? DAVOR I'm a doctor...therefore i want to help you... RICHARD Help me with what? i just want to go back home to my family... DAVOR I don't think you will ever see your family again Mr Watson... RICHARD How do you know my name? DAVOR One of your Journalist friends managed to stay alive when your office was ambushed by my men...his name was Frank... RICHARD Is he okay? Davor punches Richard in the face. DAVOR Don't interrupt me again... Richard coughs blood. DAVOR No he's not okay...Franky boy got out of the office building and was caught straight away...we got some information about you and then we tortured him and let him bleed to death... Richard panics and starts shouting. Davor punches him again. Richard is quiet. DAVOR

Are we finished?... Davor walks to a side table and picks out an operating knife. Richard panics and pulls at the straps. Davor laughs. Davor walks back to Richard. RICHARD You bastard. i hope you rot in hell. DAVOR That isn't very nice is it? Davor runs the knife from Richards forehead to his stomach and stops. SCREEN FACES TO BLACK (off screen) Richard screaming. INT-ENTRANCE A tiny bit of moon light shines down on Sophie. She's curled up in the corner sobbing. SOUND of a WHISPER across the room. Sophie looks up. SOPHIE'S (POV)- APRIL standing SMILING. APRIL Don't give up hope. i need you to help me open the door where the bad man took me... SOPHIE Why can't you open it yourself? APRIL I already tried but i couldn't open it...Richard is in trouble... SOPHIE What kind of trouble? APRIL The horrible man has him. he is the same bad man that took me in that room and.... April starts crying and shaking and then disappears... Sophie picks herself up and hobbles to the door. INT-FIRST CORRIDOR Sophie slowly walking along the corridor. Someone appears at the end of the corridor. SOPHIE (POV)-DAVOR standing in an surgeons apron that is covered in blood. He has a knife in his right hand. DAVOR Hello my lovely... Sophie turns to the door to her right. She tries opening the door Davor starts walking towards her. DAVOR It will be easier for you if you just gave up... Sophie BANGS at the door and finally burst through. She CLOSES the door behind her.

INT-SMALL ROOM Small room with bunker beds. CUTS TOP- RADIO TRANSMITTER at the end of the bed. Sophie sits at the foot of the door. She puts her ear to the door. Everything is silent. She takes a deep breath and pulls her trouser up. Her ankle is swollen. She pulls up and goes straight to the transmitter. Sophie switches on the transmitter and manages to get reception. SOPHIE Hello is anyone there? hello MAN Hello i hear you...can you identify yourself? SOUND of BANGING at the door. DAVOR Hello my dear are you in there? Sophie panics and pushes a bunker bed across the door. The door is a jar but Davor still can't get in. SOPHIE my name is Sophie and I'm trapped down a bunker in the middle of a forest DAVOR (off screen) My dear. I'm back to help you (laughing) The transmitter cuts off. Sophie looks up and sees an air vet on the ceiling. Sophie climbs on the bunker bed.Davor breaks part of the door and he is nearly in the room. Sophie is half way through the vent.Davor squeezes in and climbs onto the bunker bed and slices Sophie's leg with an operating knife. Sophie kicks Davor in the face. Davor falls to the ground. Sophie manages to get up into the ceiling. Sophie looks down at Davor. SOPHIE I hope you die a horrible death you sick old man. Davor wipes the blood from his nose DAVOR When i catch you. I'm going to have so much fun with your beautiful body. Davor stands and paces out the room. INT- VENT Sophie crawling along the vent and stops. She takes a look at her leg. It's Badly cut. A trail of blood trails back down the vent. INT- LABORATORY FERRETS eating away at human remains. DAVOR appears outside the glass. Davor taps the glass and gets the ferrets attention. DAVOR Hello my babies...would you like some fresh meat. Davor reaches into the container. He pulls to ferrets out and places them into a box.

Davor leaves the room with the box. INT- VENT Sophie looking through a vent SOPHIE'S (POV) Savo dead on an operating table. His intestines are hanging out. SOPHIE Oh my god SOUND of RATTLING from in the vent. SOPHIE What the hell is that. FERRETS appear racing towards her. Sophie beats at the vent and the ferrets catch up with her. SOPHIE (POV) ferrets eating away at her leg like hungry rats. Sophie screams and manges to smash the vent through. INT- OPERATING ROOM Sophie falls from the vent and onto Savo's dead body. Sophie is tangled up in Savo's insides. THE FERRETS land on top of Sophie. Sophie beats the ferrets off her. The ferrets dart onto the floor and out of the open door.Sophie climbs off the table. She closes the door and takes a deep breath. DAVOR (off screen) My lovely Sophie looks up at the vent. SOPHIE (screams) Leave me alone Sophie slides down the door and curls up. Sophie weeps. DAVOR Its okay my lovely...i might not be the most romantic man in your life at the moment but i sure took after that horrid Englishman for you. SOPHIE (mumbles) Go away (screams) Go away you sick bastard... Davor laughs sadistically DAVOR Don't move my lovely. i will be with you in a moment Sophie listens and everything is silent. Sophie picks herself up and opens the door. She looks up and down the corridor. She hobbles out the room. INT- UNKNOWN CORRIDOR Sophie hobbles along the corridor with blood trailing from her leg. Sophie collapses. SOUND of MUMBLING from a nearby room. Sophie herself picks herself up and hobbles closer to the door. Sophie listens closer. SOUND of MUMBLING.

SOPHIE (whispers) Is anybody in there? SOUND of MUMBLING. Sophie's face lights up with joy. SOPHIE (whispers) Richard? RICHARD (cough) Hey baby... Sophie manages to open the door and enters. INT- OPERATING ROOM Richard is strapped on the table with his stomach badly stitched up and his face bruised and blooded. RICHARD Hey SOPHIE Hey. how you feeling? RICHARD I've been better i suppose. SOUND of DAVOR LAUGHING like a madman down the corridor. THE FERRET race into the room and start chewing at Sophie's leg. Sophie kicks them off. The ferrets dart out the room. Sophie climbs onto the table beside Richard. Sophie unstraps Richard. Sophie collapses and faints on the table. SOUND of DAVOR getting closer down the corridor. Richard climbs off the table holding his stomach. He closes the door and grabs an operating knife from the table. Richard waits patiently behind a cabinet. The door opens slowly. Davor enters the room and walks straight to the table. Sophie is out cold. DAVOR Well what do we have here. Richard creeps up behind Davor. Davor turns and Richard stabs Davor in the neck. Davor and Richard fall to the floor and scuffle. The ferrets enter the room and race towards the fighting pair. Richard gets the better of Davor. Richard scrabbles onto the table. The ferrets rip away at Davor's neck. Richard looks at a lifeless Sophie and hugs her. RICHARD Don't die on me please...I love you... SOPHIE (whispers) Just get me out of this hell hole.

Richard looks at Sophie and kisses her. SOPHIE There is a transmitter in one of the rooms down the corridor. Richard at the floor and the fetters have gone along with Davors head but his body is still there. KEYS hanging out of Davors trouser pocket. Richard climbs off the table and takes the keys. INT- BUNKER ROOM Richard sitting at the transmitter. RICHARD Hello is anybody out there? TIME LAPSE RICHARD (stressed) Hello is anybody out there for Christs sake anybody VOICE ON TRANSMITTER Hello...Sergeant Riley from Grenadier guards 19 platoon. can i have your location? INT- CORRIDOR Richard outside the operating room. RICHARD He is a British soldier here in Serbia...there is a search team coming for us... SOPHIE (off screen) Thank god...i thought we were going to die down here... Richards attention turns swiftly up the corridor. CUTS TO- APRIL looking at Richard from the end of the corridor.. RICHARD (smiles) How are you sweetheart? APRIL Fine thank you. Sophie joins Richard. Sophie smiles at April. Richard and Sophie walk slowly towards April. They reach her. April takes each of them by the hand. April signals to the door. APRIL I would be so much happier when I'm reunited with my parents. April disappears. Richards with Davor's keys walks to the door. Richard tries some of the keys in the door and finally finds the right key. Richard smiles and opens the door A cold gust of wind blows out the room. Richard and Sophie walk in the room. INT-ROOM

Sophie collapses to her knees and sobs while Richard stands in shock. A tear runs down his face. CUT TO- A SMALL SKELETON dressed in a pink dress chained to a bed post. SCREEN FADES TO BLACK TWO WEEKS LATER INT- KITCHEN/OLD HOUSE Richard and Sophie looking out the window. Richard has his arm around Sophie. RICHARD lovely CUTS TO INT/EXT GARDEN APRIL being pushed on the swing by HER PARENTS. April's mother stops the swing. The family acknowedge Richard and Sophie. Richard and Sophie wave to them. The parents carry on pushing April on the swing. THE SCREEN FADES TO BLACK THE END
