Leslie Reyes October 29, 2013 English 12 Core, 3B Reflection Canterbury Tales In my English 12 Core English class, we are reading the Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer, which was written in the Middle English at the end of the 14th century. The class was separated into groups and given two characters from the story. Each group was asked to create and present a power point to the class, on the characters that we were given. My group, which included myself, Spring Watt, Roy Nash, Marcus Burrell , and Aleesha Derrick, where given The Squire and The Pardoner as our characters to research from the Canterbury Tales. Our group split up different task for each of us to do while we were reading the story. The job that I was given was to write down textual evidence of the characteristics that the character possessed as we talked about them. I feel like I did this job well, being that Roy Nash, who was reading the story aloud, and the other members were discussing and talking fast. Therefore I see that I put down as much information as possible given that I was also discussing and contributing to the information that was passed between our members. On the power point itself I would say that I did not do very much of the working putting it together, but more on the information and research that was put onto the power point. I did however write in some of the information in the beginning, though the format was later changed by my fellow group members. Since I did not work on the design of the power point I am not very pleased with how it turned out. I am not a fan of the format of neither the text nor the pictures. If I would have been in charge of the power point I would have presented the

information in a more neat but casual way. Also when we were in front of the class presenting our power point, naturally I got nervous, but I am glad that I, nor the others, did not mess anything up and that everything turned out fine. As for the other group members I would say that for the most part they also did a good job, excluding Marcus Burrell, who would just sleep the whole time and offered no additional thoughts on the characters. Other than that I would say that the other group members did a very good job in putting together the power point and presenting it. I would also say that our group got along , and worked together very well. As for me, Leslie Reyes, I have always liked to do group work. Group work has always been something that I am fond of, because when I work with other people and I am assigned something to do I work hard to finish it, being that I do not want to disappoint the others. However when I work alone I sometimes tend to not do my work because I dont have any motivation to no disappoint other people. In conclusion I would say that I did a pretty good job contributing to this assignment, and somewhat pleased with how it turned out. Also I am always glad to do group work, since I work better with other people and I tend to get along with other people pretty easily. I would also like to thank my teacher, Ms.Floch, for being such a good teacher. Ms.Floch always seems to pick interesting stories, and connects them to modern things, unlike any other English teacher that I have had.
