CHECKLIST FOR Ph.D. PROGRAMME BASED ON Ph.D. REGULATIONS, 2009 Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D. admission: 1.

For full time scholars minimum eligibility: (a) Masters Degree in relevant discipline with 55% marks in aggregate. (b) Selection through entrance test and interview. At the time of interview, doc toral candidates are expected to discuss their research interest/area. Applicant s who have valid course Score of high level in any of the relevant National Elig ibility Test like GATE/NET of UGC/CSIR/SLET of the State, may be given preferenc e as decided by the Dean of the concerned faculty. 2. For sponsored scholars, attached full time to Research Projects (a) Masters Degree in relevant discipline with 55% marks in aggregate. (b) These candidates must have served with organization for minimum of 2 years o n a full time basis. (c) Selection Through written test and/or interview. At the time of interview, d octoral candidates are expected to discuss their research interest/area. Application for Admission: 1. Applications will be invited from candidates by issue of advertisement or cir cular or public notice through media or internet or in any other manner. (mentio ning the number of seats for M Phil / Ph.D Course, Department wise in the facult y) Reservation in Admission to be made available as per, Govt. Norms . 2. A candidate seeking Admission to a Ph.D. programme must apply to the Registra r of the University on the prescribed form for appearing at the entrance test wi th all the required documents / certificates. Terms & Conditions mentioned in th e application form are binding for all the applicants. 3. Admission to the Ph.D. programme will be made on the basis of interview, subs equent to entrance test. 4. Admission to Ph.D. programme will be subject to vacancy being available in th e relevant specializations. 5. After having been admitted, each M.Phil/Ph.D student shall be required to und ertake course work for a minimum period of one semester, as a Resident Research Scholar. The course work shall be treated as pre M.Phil/Ph.D preparation and wil l include a course on research methodology, quantitative methods and computer ap plications. It may also involve reviewing of published research in the relevant field. Student qualifying at this course will proceed further with the writing o f the dissertation. 6. M.Phil and Ph.D programme shall not be conducted through distance education m ode. FEE (Non-refundable).: i. Application Form Fee: Rs. 1100/- , Processing Fee: Rs. 5000/-, Enrollment Fee : Rs. 1000/-. ii. Course Fee: Rs. 2,25,000/- for 2013 (S) payable in 3 installments of Rs. 75, 000/- each, Rs. 15,000 Viva-Voce & Examination of Thesis Fee 2. However the candidate may have to pay the additional charges i.e. on account of expenditure in excess of amount, approved or provided by sponsoring agency fo r carrying out instrumentation, experimentation and such related activity(ies) i n relation to the research. 3. In case a Ph.D. student admitted to the Ph.D. course of a faculty opts to lea ve / discontinue the course in between, he will have to pay the complete course fee of Ph.D. course and the fees already paid by him/her will neither be refunda ble nor adjustable in future. 4. Student will not be entitled to any TA/DA on account of expenditure incurred on activities related to research.
