Officials at Home Depot called in to request assistance in getting someone who was locked out of a car into the vehicle last week. Officers went over and got into the car without incident.

Hot meal
Fire department officials were sent to an Ambleside Drive address when the kitchen caught on fire. The matter was put under control before police arrived at the scene.

when a fight reportedly broke out. Officers did not find an active fight going on when they arrived but all parties were advised on the call.

No more driving today


Police on patrol made a routine traffic stop at a Chester Road business and found the driver was behind the wheel illegally. The driver was cited for driving under suspension and given a courtesy ride to Wal-Mart to be picked up. The car was left at the site until a licensed driver could pick it up.

To the line
A call came in regarding an unruly juvenile at a Knickerbocker Road address. No acts of violence were detected in the matter and all parties were advised.

No dough
Officials at Costco called in to report receiving bad checks last week. A report was filed for civil records keeping.

SHEFFIELD LAKE
To the rescue
The rescue squad was dispatched to a Kenilworth Avenue address when a subject fell into medical distress Oct. 23. The subject was stabilized at the scene and did not require hospital transport.

Nobody home
A residential alarm was received from a Devonshire Drive address. It turned out to be a false alarm and the home checked as secure.

AVON LAKE
Spinning around
The rescue squad was dispatched to a Miller Road business when a woman started to complain of dizziness. She was treated at the scene and did not require hospital transport.

Strange
A report came in about someone possibly living in a car in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Officers went over, but found the claim did not have merit.

Hello, there
A welfare check was requested on a Lake Road resident. Police went to the home and advised the person in question in the matter.

Burning for you


A fire alarm was received from a Thelma Drive address. Police and fire units responded to the call, and the matter was put under control without casualties.

Get off the road


With winter approaching, officers are getting more and more vigilant regarding vehicles parked illegally on the street overnight. The owner of a vehicle along Springvale Court was one of several cited this week for leaving the car on the street.

Extra clean
A front door alarm was received from a Lake Road location. It turned out to be the cleaning lady.

My side of the story


A citizen came to the station to file a good oldfashioned citizens complaint last week. The complaint was taken and filed per procedure.

Seeing eye
A Lake Road resident called in to request extra patrols in the area last week. A note was made in call logs to increase police activity in the area.

Close call
Police were called to an address when a woman stated her son attempted to hang himself Oct. 23. The subject was stabilized and taken to a hospital for psychiatric care.

Wakeup call
A report was received about a small child wrapped in a blanket standing outside a Mills Road residence. Since the call was potentially in North Ridgeville, officers there were advised and assisted on the call. It turned out to be a 3- or 4-year-old little girl who could not sleep and went outside for some fresh air at 4:12 in the morning. She was taken inside to her parents and advised against ever doing that again.

Muzzled
A call was received about an out-of-control dog in the Idlewood Avenue area. Officers spoke to the owner and advised on the complaint.

Go home now
A call came in about out-of-control juveniles in the area of Richelieu and Lafayette. Patrol units were sent over and officers were able to resolve matters without further incident.

There you are!


A Rosewood Drive resident requested police check on the welfare of a neighbor last week. Patrol units were sent over and contact with the subject was made without incident.

Taken away
A local businessman called in to report several of his street signs stolen over the week. It turned out one of the signs was in police inventory due to being in the right of way; the rest were filed in a report.

Clear!
A call came in from the emergency clinic on Healthway Drive requesting an officer stop by and jump the battery on a doctors car. A call was placed through dispatch, but the driver ended up being able to get underway without assistance from police.

Burning fashion
The fire department was sent to a Lear Road home when the dryer caught on fire last week. The event was put under control without incident.

Too many people


A call came in from a man stuck in traffic along SR 83 regarding the lights near I-90 not working properly. Street department officials were advised to look into the matter.

Stupid game
A report was received about a subject in a van pointing a laser sight at oncoming traffic along Vinewood Drive. The subject was advised on the call.

Scary walk
A call came in regarding two young ladies walking down SR 83 unsupervised during rush hour Oct. 23. Officers picked up the youngsters, who ended up being sisters walking to school at Heritage North, and gave them a ride to school. After dropping off the students, officers headed to the house along Cypress East Drive to speak to their parents.

Did it alone
A report was received about a subject locked out of a car at an Avon Belden Road location. By the time police arrived, the subject and the car were gone.

Painting time
A general alarm was received from the Two Bucks facility. It turned out to be some maintenance workers in the building.

Iron woman
The rescue squad was sent when an 89-yearold woman became weak. The woman was transported to hospital care.
