I
chose
this
color
scheme
because
Michigan
is
known
for
its
Great
Lakes,
so
I
wanted
to
include
blue
in
it
to
represent
the
water.
Blue
and
gray
are
calming
colors,
which
makes
me
feel
better
when
thinking
about
health.
Although
I
chose
blue
here,
this
logo
can
easily
use
other
colors
Typography
I
chose
Brittanic
Bold
because
I
want
it
to
contrast
with
their
old
logo
font.
Brittanic
Bold
looks
modern
and
confident,
while
their
old
font
looks
boring
and
small.
Brittanic
Bold
makes
me
believe
in
the
organization
and
believe
that
they
are
already
successful
in
the
things
that
they
do,
so
that
I
should
place
my
confidence
in
them.
The
font
makes
me
think
that
they
are
technologically
up
to
date,
which
is
important
for
a
health
organization.
The
other
font
I
chose
is
Helonia
because
it
looks
professional
and
easy
to
read.
It
also
looks
extremely
similar
to
Helvetica,
which
has
a
good
history
of
being
a
great
font.
Design
process
I
wanted
something
simple
and
clean,
but
modern
and
very
Michigan-based.
I
first
looked
for
fonts
that
I
thought
reflected
the
type
of
personality
that
I
wanted
the
logo
to
have.
After
finding
fonts,
I
found
an
outline
of
the
Michigan
state
because
MPHTC
wanted
to
keep
a
picture
of
Michigan
in
their
logo.
Then
I
put
the
fonts
and
shapes
together
and
picked
the
colors.
