WILL SKILL BILL

WILL
(What are you most passionate about?)
1. Interest vs Passion 2. Why, not what? 3. Six Universal Human Needs
Certainty Uncertainty Significance Belongingness Growth Contribution yar pakki baat hai you want me kuch naya karte hain meri kya position hogi do teen boys saath le aaun mera kya faidah main kaise help karsakta hun

Juggling Challenge

1. Some jump into action right away and keep doing it till the end and enjoy the process 2. Some think, then do, then think, then do, then think, then do 3. Some looks for experts amongst them and start following them 4. Some do combinations of the above etc

SKILL
What are you capable of doing or learning how to do? 1. There is no one way to learn a skill 2. There is no standard time that it takes to learn a skill it varies from person to person 3. There are people who are naturally good at something but that is not the only determinant in success

BILL
What is the market ready to pay for?

Eye-sight: See things as they are. Usually seeing others doing something and saying this is a good field Hind-sight: Seeing things as they used to be. Doctors and engineers will always be required. Photographers have no career. Etc Mind-sight: Seeing things as they could be. Its about looking at problems as opportunities. Companies exist to solve problems. Whoever they hire is a problem solver in one way or the other.

Keep in mind
1. Whatever can be automated, will be automated! 2. Human factor will always remain for creative/thinking/analytical jobs 3. Companies are increasingly looking at outsourcing all their support functions (which means some other company is doing it or freelancers are, which too is fantastic opportunity)

Informal picture Spelling mistakes Informal email add. No CNIC # Long phrases 3 contact # Locations without source Quotations Invalid format

Tagline Typos & Grammatical Errors Important info

Raise sponsorships or generate revenue Saved cost and time Developed processes, made things more efficient Solved a specific problem Developed relationships with stakeholders In coming up with creative ideas

Specific, Not Generic: Companies need to understand the exact role you performed instead of the name of role only. For example, which one would you prefer more:

Marketing Head at Model United Nations Conference Or Led the Marketing Campaign for Model United Nations through media partnerships & social media that attracted over 500 registrations from 8 cities

Use Action Verbs: Dont use responsible for or assigned to, instead use Led, Championed, Resolved, Managed etc
Format & Layout: Use tabs instead of spaces. Left aligned looks better and line-border gives a formal feel. Use bullets instead of paragraphs.

Synonyms: Be cautious replacing commonly used words with their synonyms. No two words mean the same. However, your resume should include buzz words/phrases which keep changing from time to time.

Miscellaneous Not To-Dos:

Unprofessional email (cutebubbly59@ymail.com) Funny fonts (Every font has a mood) Copy pasting somebody elses resume Picture on resume. It leads to unnecessary judgment. Forgetting to attach. (Attach first, write second) Sending in DOCX instead of PDF (New Word has Save As PDF Option) Not writing a cover note Making one standard resume for every application Using lingo instead of proper language Writing generic skills without any thinking No references
