us Course Description
This course provides preparation and instruction for the AP English Literature exa scheduled in !ay. The course will hone skills in writing" critical reading" research" analy#ing literary criticis " and voca$ulary develop ent" especially as it pertains to the content area. %n addition to the a$ove" students will $e a$le to& understand and analy#e poetry" short stories" non'fiction" novels" and plays display oral co unication skills in infor al and for al presentations" group work" class pro(ects discover how the genres of poetry and prose reflect the concerns" political cli ate" and social conditions of that society ake connections $etween literature and their own lives i prove their a$ility to appreciate and evaluate poetry and prose $y recogni#ing distinctive for s" styles" and techni)ues and $y $eco ing proficient in the use of literary ter inology write with purpose" confidence" and a strong sense of their voice strengthen their analytical" oral" and research skills e ploy close reading skills" strategies" and techni)ues
