Hello all,

It was great to see so many of you there at the Innovation Festival. Thank you to everyone involved. In particular, wed like to say thank you to: Arno Zimmermann, Denise Reike, Erik Faassen, Hlne Margue, Lennart Pompe, Martijn Ahrens, Marvin Kant, Olivier Membrive and Timur Kharrasov, all of whom were officially recognised as the first Climate-KIC Master Graduates. They will be the start of many, many more. Wed also like to thank Kezhi Wang (main pic), a PhD Engineering student at Warwick University, who wrote about his experiences from the festival especially for us on our blog, click here to read more.

Education Directorship
Climate-KIC Education has a new director. Ebrahim Mohamed is an entrepreneurship education specialist and will now drive the development of Climate-KICs Education activities. Ebrahim joins us from Imperial College where in joined in 1992. He has worked on a number of graduate programmes and led significant innovation initiatives in education. EIT Connect and Awards November 10-12th: W ell have three representatives from th Climate-KIC at the EIT Awards this November (12 ) in Budapest. Kate Hofman (GrowUp), Swati Pandey (TRA Labs) and Evan Bruner (SolarCatch) will be on stage on the final day. The event

begins on Sunday, November 10 , with the Alumni get together from 18:00 @ tkert. The full agenda for the connect event and awards is now online. Well be featuring the event next month. Spark! We have two Spark! sessions in quick succession in Paris and Berlin respectively. November 6 : Live from UPMC in Paris, well hear from Pierre Jouniaux (pictured right), co-founder of start-up Safety Line. They develop innovative solutions for risk management in air transport. Hell discuss how his start-up reduces air travel carbon emissions through analysis of blackbox data. December 16 : Live from Berlin well have a special unique Spark! before the Christmas holidays. Four speakers from our partners in the Industrial Symbiosis platform will present a series of challenges which participants will work on to solve. More information will follow nearer the time. Climate Change Conferences: November 9 : Run by Imperial College, a core Climate-KIC partner, the UKs biggest student led conference on climate change and sustainability will be the place to be. November 15 : Climate-KIC will be with the ten finalists who will be battling it out on at the MediaPlaza, in Utrecht, the Netherland for 25.000 to establish for their start-up. If you want to see how they convince the jury of the sustainability of their plan, register your interest here. Mobility: A number of questions come in about our Mobility Fund. The mobility programme is designed to give students the resources needed to give real added value to your research, in others words we may be able to provide you with some money to learn outside of your home university.
