Western North American Union Delegation

The SDARM Western North American Union delegation session was held in Sacramento on Sunday, November 3, 2013. The delegation session was conducted by Liviu Tudoroiu, the Regional Secretary for North America. Special guests included Rudolfo Gessner, the General Conference Treasurer, Adrian Finaru, the General Conference Missionary Director, and Hennadiy Melnichuk of Reformation Herald Publishing Association.! There were 26 delegates representing the work across the territory, which covers the US states from the Pacic Ocean to Mississippi River. The WNAU is composed of 5 units: Central Mission "4 delegates#, Desert Mission "2 delegates#, Northwest Field "12 delegates#, Pacic Mission "4 delegates#, and Southwest Field "4 delegates#.! The membership reported by the Secretary was 524: Central Mission 49, Desert Mission 22, Northwest Field 285, Pacic Mission 48, Southwest Field 120.! The Northwest Field, Pacic Mission, and Southwest Field all saw increases in membership. The Central Field and Desert Mission had a drop in membership during this administrative period. As a result of their drop in membership and an inability to be self$supporting the Central Field lost their status as a eld and will now be mission.! The outgoing Treasurer, Marian Ionita, reported that 2011$2013 income to the WNAU was %793,418.79, and expenses were %760,844.36, with a net income of %32,574.43. The largest expense categories included transfer of designated o&erings for foreign missions like the Week of Prayer o&ering "to General Conference, %485,100.25# salaries "%130,053.52#, missionary outreach "%61,202.23#, and the Las Vegas special mission project "%36,513.67#.! The delegation operated with four major parts: mission planning, administrative planning, nancial planning, and the selection of new o'cers to operate these plans. The full minutes of the meeting will be released once

they are prepared, but here are some the highlights:! The mission plans include a union$wide media consolidation instead of the current policy which sees each Field and Mission operating separate media ministries. This will allow for more media work as we pool our resources. 2014 was designated the year of evangelism and a large$scale distribution plan for the book Thoughts From the Mount of Blessing was approved. A plan was also approved to increase the number of literature evangelists by 10(.! The largest change in the nancial administration is that the transfer credit system will no longer be allowed. All expenses must be reported directly to the authorizing body which will pay those expenses directly. Treasurers are authorized to pay only expenses authorized by their Unit. This will increase oversight of nances and decrease the workload of local and unit treasurers.! Bylaws changes primarily included penalties for units that fail to report nancial and statistical information on time. In addition, the executive o'cers of the WNAU may not serve in any paid capacity outside of the WNAU "such as working for the General Conference#, and if they accept such position will lose their executive position within the WNAU.! The new o'cers of the WNAU as elected include the following:! !President: Jorai Cruz! Vice$President: Jose Senior! Secretary: Roberto Duarte! !Treasurer: Justin Risko! !Education Director: Michael Torpey! Media Director: Abi Budau! Medical Director: Reiner Kremer! Missionary Director: David Zic! Publishing Director: Wilson Barros! Sabbath School Superintendent: Jaime Olivencia! Youth Director: Iulian Utupanu! Bylaws Committee Chairman: Tobias Stockler! Finance Committee Chairman: Lysander Dumitru! Delegates to the General Conference Session: Jorai Cruz, Iulian Utupanu, David Zic! Executive Committee: John Baer, Jorai Cruz, Roberto Duarte, Justin Risko, Jose Senior! Union Council: John Baer, Jorai Cruz, Roberto Duarte, Adiel Gomez, Marian Ionita, Reiner Kremer, Jaime Olivencia, Justin Risko, Jose Senior, Tobias Stockler, Michael Torpey, Iulian Utupanu, David Zic!
