The pupil premium is an additional sum of money given to schools for children who are presently, or have in the last six years, been entitled to free school meals. We are committed to raising standards for every child and invest resources and time to ensure that every child receives the support and challenge that they require to succeed. We report here however only on the pupil premium (FSM +) and how we have used it to tackle achievement. 2011-2012 2012-2013 2013-2014

To quantify expected progress, results are taken from internal class assessments, KS1 SATs, the optional SATs at Year 3, 4 and 5 and the SATs at KS2. Statemented children are children with significant special educational needs that can impact upon progress. School Action and School Action Plus are children who are experiencing difficulties which may hinder their progress. The pupil premium is used to support a range of programmes taught by teachers and teaching assistants. This includes national interventions such as 1 st Class @Number. Funding has been allocated to enable children to keep up with their peers by providing 1:1 support in the afternoons to reinforce ReadWriteInc. Maths etc.and to build confidence. This targeted support aims to move children forward by at least two sub-levels/ 4 points (eg. Level 2c to a Level 2a in a year.) Interventions are evaluated every six weeks for impact. The premium 2013-2014 provides 6,900 towards the cost of additional teaching. Since September 2012 two Higher Level Teaching Assistants have been trained and employed for five afternoons each at a cost of 13,600 to deliver focused teaching . Within the groups children underachieving are sometimes included alongside the children receiving the premium.
