Slide 1 INTRODUCTION The coastal area is a region highly vulnerable to environmental pressures both from land and from

m the sea. One of the pressure lately threatening the sustainability of coastal areas around the world is the sea level rise. sea level rise is the impact of global warming (global warming) that swept across this hemisphere. Slide 2 INTRODUCTION Based on the IPCC report (International Panel On Climate Change) that the average global surface temperature increased from 0.3 to 0.6 0C since the late 19th century and up to the year 2100 the earth's temperature is expected to rise about 1.4 to 5.80 C (Dahuri, 2002 and Bratasida, 2002). Rise in global surface temperatures cause melting of ice at the north and south poles of the earth so that there was rise in sea level (Sea Level Rise). Estimated from the upcoming 19992100 year sea level rise approximately 1.4 to 5.8 m (Dahuri, 2002).

Slide 3 Semarang is one of city that has a coastal area with a coastline along 13km exposed effect by sea level rise. The sea level rise is also compounded by the occurrence of land subsidence in Semarang. Land subsidence in Semarang coastal area reaches 2-20 cm/year (Sarbidi, 2002)

Sea level rise is thought to be one cause of the tidal flood in Semarang is a very difficult problem to solve. Until now, the exact figure of the sea level rise in Semarang is still unclear because of some studies apparently show different results .

Slide 4 DATA The main data that collected in this research are tide data and the land subsidence data in tide station Then the data are analysed descriptively, formulated in the tables, maps and graphs and also search the relation among those data Slide 5 METHODOLOGY The character of this research is descriptive with case study design Tidal data retrieval aim to obtain position information on the development of sea surface in Semarang water. Tidal data is collected secondary data Daily tidal data is analyzed using the method of Admiralty 29 days and the results were averaged so that the end result will be known components of aquatic plants in Semarang pairs that can be used to megetahui MSL value, LLW, HHW and tidal type

Monthly tidal data for the last 20 years is described in the form of tables and graphs of time series, so it would seem the trend of mean sea level within the last 20 years.

Silde 6 METHODOLOGY Data of land subsidence, analyzed descriptively. Then look for the value of land subsidence in tidal stations per year. Then the data reduction on port land is used for correcting the data obtained tides. so we get the value of the actual sea level rise is caused by global warming and the value of land subsidence in tidal station that seems to cause the sea level to rise. Slide 7 METHODOLOGY methods of measurement used to observe the development of the global sea level is by using satellite altimetry data because this method has advantages in terms of the density of the data obtained several satellite altimetry is capable of recording data, such as TOPEX, ERS-1, ERS 2, GFO
