RIOGUR F CD is a packaged presplit product based on MAXAMs latest developments in watergel technology. It is manufactured from oxidiser salts, aluminium, water, sensitisers and thickening agents. RIOGUR F CD is cap sensitive, chemically gassed and is specifically designed for pre-splitting in open cut mines, quarries and construction. RIOGUR F CD is packaged in flexible plastic sleeves (HDPE) that contain an internal line of RIOCORD detonating cord that provides contionous detonation of the product as well as supporting the weight of the cartridge string whilst it is being loaded into the blastholes. RIOGUR F CD has been formulated to have the required VOD and energy characteristics for effective pre-splitting in open cut mines, quarries and construction. The outstanding water resistance of RIOGUR F CD product ensures an appropriate loading rate along the blasthole.

initiation conditions, confinement and diameter. ** All energy values have been calculated using the code W-DETCOM, developed by MAXAM for its exclusive use. Different values can be obtained using other programmes. The relative effective energy corresponds to the p e r c e n t a g e value which compares the energy explosive available for carrying out effective blast work up to pressure of 100 MPa (minimum fragmentation pressure of most types of rock) with the analogous effective energy of ANFO.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE Water resistance and high density allow for use in wet blastholes. Do not use in methane atmosphere. # 8 Detonator sensitive and RIOCORD 12 g/m sensitive. The storage and use of this product should be within a temperature range of 10 and +60C. Temperature of product refers to temperature of the explosive paste and not the ambient temperature. For further information consult the Use Recommendations Sheet included inside the boxes or packaging of the product and its respective Material Safety Data Sheet. STORAGE To maintain the properties of MAXAMs explosives, we recommend they be stored in authorized deposits, in a cool dry place, with good ventilation. Stored in suitable conditions, the product may be used up to 24 months after the date of manufacture.
