Kimberly completed her fifth grade unit for her ED 318 course through Northern Michigan University working with a small group of students in my class. She also accompanied my entire class to the Young Authors conference, volunteered her time in my classroom helping with special lessons and our grade level Field Day. Kimberly also taught a class for our entire fifth grade at Bay Cliff Health Camp last spring. The following are specific strengths I have observed while working with Kimberly. In small group work, Kimberly developed a positive learning atmosphere for the students through age appropriate goal setting. She controlled behavior in a fair and respectful manner with effective classroom management techniques. Kimberly is highly organized and hard working. She demonstrated competency in subject manner and made her lessons fit the needs and the interests of the students she was working with. She produced creative lesson plans that reflected differentiated instruction and appropriate standards. Kimberly is observant, insightful and has excellent listening skills. Her kind and gentle ways endear her to children and adults alike. Her professionalism garnered respect from teachers and staff in our entire building. She is a teacher that my students looked forward to seeing each week. Kimberly completely understands that this job is not about her, it is about the kids; and that was completely evident throughout her time spent in my classroom.
