1. Objective The objective of the Korean Government Scholarship Program for an undergraduate degree is to provide international students with an opportunity to conduct advanced studies at higher educational institutions in Korea in order to promote international exchanges in education and mutual friendship between the countries. 2. Aca#emic 'ro%rams: (n#er%ra#uate #e%ree course )* !rs.+ after preliminar! ,orean -an%ua%e course )1!r.+ Grantees should take a preliminary Korean language course at the institution designated by !!"#. The institution will be specified in a letter of invitation after the announcement of final successful candidates. Grantees should reach level $ in T%P!K after the completion of a one&year preliminary Korean language course' otherwise( grantees are not allowed to take a bachelor)s degree course' instead s*he may take an additional + month Korean language course ,!T-! the scholarship period stipulated in a letter of invitation. The grantees with level . or higher in T%P!K /Test of Proficiency in Korean0 shall begin to take a bachelors degree course from 123$ spring semester without the preliminary Korean language course

6. 7ualifications: Prospective applicant must meet the following ;ualification criteria' /30 7ust be a citi9en of the country to which scholarships are offered( which is also applied to his*her parents :oth applicant and his*her parents must not be a holder of Korean citi9enship /10 Should be under 1. years of age as of 7arch 3( 123$ /Should be born after 7arch( 3( 3DEE0 /$0 -ave ade;uate health( both physically and mentally The handicapped who satisfy the above /$0 are also eligible for the program %T "ligibleA those who are pregnant or who have a severe illness /C0 -ave graduated or be scheduled to graduate from a high school as of 7arch 3( 123$ %T "ligibleA those who have already obtained a bachelors degree or a higher degree /.0 7ust possess above E2F /out of 322F0 cumulative grade point average /4.G.P.6.0( or must be within 12F /out of 322F0 in the rank during their entire high school period 4.G.P.6. should be 1.+C*C.2( 1.E2*C.$( 1.D3*C..( $.1$*..2 or higher [see Appen#i8 & !f applicants high school evaluation criteria differs from the stated above( see G&/10& /+0 7ust not at any time have ever received a Korean government scholarship for an undergraduate course /G0 7ust not have enrolled in an undergraduate course in Korea before %T "ligibleA those who have ever enrolled at a Korean university as a regular or an exchange student /E0 7ust have no limitations in travelling abroad /D0 There may be preferential selection for applicants who have proficiency in Korean or "nglish 6. Scholarship 9enefits /30 Scholarship PeriodA 7arch 3( 123$ H Bebruary 1E( 123E /10 Scholarship :enefits 6irplane ticket or airfareA The grantees will receive an airplane ticket or be paid an economy class airfare of the shortest route between their country and Korea when they come to Korea( and( thereafter( when they leave Korea after completion of their study. 7onthly StipendA E.2(222 won per month TuitionsA The tuition fee up to . million won is exempted by the Korean Government( and if any( the tuition fee exceeding . million won and the entrance fee for the first semester by the host university. Settlement 6llowanceA 122(222 won upon arrival 8epatriation 6llowanceA 322(222 won upon completion of studies

Korean <anguage Training "xpensesA The full costs up to 3 year / !!"# pays directly to the language training institution0 7edical !nsuranceA The grantees will be provided with health insurance for major accidents and illnesses during their scholarship period. The grantee who has level . or higher in T%P!K will receive 322(222 won per month after being enrolled at a university for his*her higher degree. /$0 %T"S !!"# does not compensate expenses for the domestic travel both in the grantee)s country and in Korea. 6irfare for entry into Korea will not be provided to a grantee that has been staying in Korea as of the date of announcement of successful candidates !!"# does not compensate expenses for insurance for traveling to and from Korea. "nglish ame Spelling in the application form 7=ST be exactly the same as in the passport. !f there is any inconsistency in the applicant)s name or birth date on submitted documents( further evidential document to verify it should be attached. Those applicants who submits a Provisional Graduation 4ertificate of -igh School as an expectant graduate during the application period should submit his or her Graduation 4ertificate of -igh School upon arrival in Korea ,hen submitting the documents( the documents should be arranged by the checklist order in the B%87 3. "ach document can be stapled( but do not staple all the documents together( or do not put them into a transparent file one by one.
