Treatment

The music video I am going to create will consist of a concept and narrative style. This is known as a hybrid of music video styles as it consists of two different types of video into one. The music I will be using is magic by Olympic Ayres which is quite a new band in Australia so arent really known in England. I chose to do a concept narrative style as these were the most popular choices in my questionnaire and people liked a hybrid of different styles. But the music in the video will actually juxtapose the video as the song is quite a happy upbeat song but the video will have a horror feel to it this will make the audience think more about why the video is like it is and opposite to the music. In the video first it will show two friends walking home and get to a cross roads and leave on another. Then the main character is alone when a few people in Halloween costumes come walking towards him and he looks frightened and confused about why they are in costumes. But he carries on walking down the footpath to come out to a main road where he looks around and sees more people in Halloween costumes and starts to panic. So he starts to run in immense confusion about what is happening. Then when he is running looking behind him he runs into more people in costumes but doesnt stop. Then he arrives at his house and slams the door shut and leans against the door out of breath and extremely scared. So he thinks its just a dream so he goes to the sink and splashes water in his face. He hears a knock on the door so he walks to the door and we see a calendar with the date circled on the 31st of October. When he opens the door its more people in costume so he slammed the door in their face and runs back into his house and a fade meaning time passing he comes out the back gate and sneakily walks down an alley way and then knocks into more people and freaks out but one of them takes the mask off and its his friend from the beginning and he says its Halloween. The style of the video Im going for is dream like or not reality as the character doesnt know whether it is reality or not so the effects on the video will show this. I got some ideas for this video from Michael Jacksons thriller where they are being chased by zombies and also the start of my video also will reflect this. But its also going to have a sort of scary mood to the video. The costumes will also show the sort of scary dream/ night mare of the video as they will be Halloween costumes
