Dear Students After getting free from exams, most of the students are worried about job, and

some of them sent me almost same queries that we had in our mind at the time of graduation. So in order to reply them all collectively I have generated a FAQ type document that may be helpful in searching good professional position. 1. How to apply for Jobs? For applying job you better to follow the Sunday Dawn and Jang, but the convenient way to look for a job is www.paperpk.com where you can find the all the job advertisements published in famous daily news papers of Pakistan. So you had better make the habit of visiting this website regularly. 2. Which jobs to apply? You should apply on almost every job, for which you are eligible, even the jobs that are not directly related to you such as jobs requiring qualification in electrical, telecommunication, computer networking jobs. Dont let any job go asking for experience of one or two years. 3. How to get desired Job? Try to avail any opportunity come your way. Once you got the job, dont sit back idle, and immediately start applying for better job generally and desired job particularly. At the same time make a plan to avail the maximum knowledge of the job you are willing to get. For example if you want to join WAPDA you must know what WAPDA is expecting from an engineer, what kind of engineer best suits WAPDA, what kind of test and interview they conduct, how you can apply there and in which month usually they announces job opportunities. 4. How to study? Every organization conduct test and interview according to their own standard and requirements which they may and they do change time to time as per their need of the hour. So it is not possible to categorically say what one should study for the test of any particular organization however in my view if one go through the book of Paynter or Malvino for Electronics, Frenzel and Behroz Frauzen for Communication and Networking, Curtis D. Jhonson for Instrumentation, William Hayt for basic Electrical, any book for electrical machine and transformer, Floyd for digital electronics, and class work of Control III, Signal and System, sucha student will easily qualify the technical test of SUPARCO, NTDC, PEPCO, DESTO, NDC, NESCOM, MTC, NIE, ENi, FFBL, FFC, PTCL, Telenor (Note: ENGRO do not ask even a signal technical question throughout their selection procedure)and other such organizations. Practicing I.Q test and reading newspaper (Daily DAWN) regularly may be useful in some tests. 5. Application for Job? Usually students send same CV to all the organization which cast bad impression on hiring authority. Hiring authority give weight to the application that specifically address them so in order to be short listed among the thousands of applicants you must focus on two things. i. Each time you apply for the job, edit your CV according to the organization and the position you are applying, for example if you are applying in a mobile company for networking job, you must highlight your achievements and skills in the field of computer and networking rather than electronics and instrumentation. ii. With every application must append a cover letter in which you specifically address the hiring authority of that particular organization, such as HR Manager Mobilink etc, in addition try to present yourself as the most appropriate candidate for the job posted by highlighting your skills that are the requirement of that particular job. 6. What you should do right now? Try to get rid of your FYP (Final Year Project) as soon as possible and spend your time in depth reading

of the books mentioned earlier. Remember that sooner you submit you FYP, earlier youll get your fin al marks certificate/pass certificate that will minimize the chance of missing an opportunity due to unavailability of pass certificate. More over job posting season for freshers is from November to April, so if you spend more time on your FYP, you may not be able to focus on job sorting that mean you would missed current job posting season.
