The “Formal” Commands
Used for a group you don’t know or someone older
Go to the “yo” form and change the ending
Hablar->hablo -> hable
Written form includes the Ud and Uds.
Stem changes are the usual stem changes
Spell Changes are the usual spell changes
‘car’ to ‘que’
‘cer’ and ‘cir’ to ‘zc’

Reflexive
Use the “se” for usted or ustedes
In the positive, the reflexive goes at the end and you add an accent.
The reflexive goes before the conjugated verb in the negative.

a. When the verb is infinitive, you can attach it
b. You can put it at the end of the infinitive or you can put it before
the first conjugated verb

a. Attached at the end of a participle

4. Attached to an affirmative command

Add “mente” and slap on an ‘a’ if the verb can be either ‘o’ or ‘a’
regularly.
If it ends in ‘e’ just add “mente”
If the verb ends in a consonant, just add the ‘mente’
When you have more than one in a sentence, then you only change the last one.

○ Hace + time period + que + whatever you did in the present.
When you already did it.
• “Cuanto tiempo hace que _____(Preterite)_”
• Hace + time period + que + whatever it is you did in the preterite.

The first clause is the independent clause. You’re hoping/wishing/wanting. In this
clause everything is in the present tense.
The second clause is where it’s in the subjunctive (the dependent), this is what
you want/wish/hope for

Has to be two different people.
Use the yo form and go opposite
