Sebastian Acuna Mrs. Berg Adv. Composition 3 November 2013 The following informative essay focuses on the early basic history of Quantum Mechanics, created by Sebastian Acuna. In General Quantum Physics stands as a branch of science that deals with discrete, indivisible units of energy called "Quanta", following the name of Quantum Theory. Quantum Physics subjects itself into five main categories: First, energy is continuous but comes in small but discrete units. Second, the elementary particles behave both like particles and like waves. Third, the movement of these particles is completely random. Fourth, It is physically impossible to know both the position and momentum of a particle at the same time. The more precise the measurement of the first known object the less accurate the measurement of the second object of matter is. Fifth, lastly the atomic world is nothing like the world we live in.

EVENTS THAT HAVE SHAPED MODERN PHYSIC AND SUSTAINED QUANTUM

UNDERSTANDINGS .

In 1859, scientist Dr. Gustav Kirchhoff proved the first step into identifying Quantum Mechanics, known as the Blackbody Radiation Theorem. It consisted of an object known as a

blackbody of matter that absorbs all the energy that falls upon it. Because of it, no absorption of light and reflection occurs at any given time. Thus given it a visual aspect of a black sphere of matter. Kirchhoff also proved that a blackbody was a perfect emitter of an element. This was sustained by the following: He proved that the energy emitted E depends on the temperature T and the frequency V of the emitted energy. Following to his equation of.... E=J(T,v) The only matter at hand was the challenge that he vested upon his colleagues to help him discover what the J function could really represent.

Shortly after in 1879, Josef Stefan proposed on experimental belief that the total energy emitted by a hot body was equal or proportional to the fourth power of the temperature, other wisely given by such subject. Nevertheless, Stefan's belief was to general to be acclaimed and was subjected as a false assumption. However, Ludwig Boltzmann used Stefan's work in 1884 to try and identify Kirchhoff's clever J function. Boltzmann used thermodynamics and the electromagnetic theory to try and emphasize on the experimental belief of Josef Stefan and create a scientific theory. This came to be known as the Stefan-Boltzmann law; it entitled Stefan's ailed assumptions into a working theory.

Seventeen years later a German scientist known as Wilhelm Wien introduced a solution to Kirchhoff's problem. Wien demonstrated the proportional difference between wavelengths and

matter by answering that the J function developed a whole new study that concentrated on a different state of matter. Wien argued that wavelengths travel at higher speeds than matter particles creating a drift within an atom. His findings were indeed affirmative, but too intrusive and problematic at the time to even consider. Scientist by the names of Rubens and Kurlbaum dramatically disproved his theory by using an infrared lab that distinguishes wavelengths. Later on this was also disproved.

By the time physics reached the 1900's the atomic theory had yet to be universally accepted and understood. As we entered the 20th century, the belief still stood that atoms were still point particles and it wasn't clear how an atom really worked.

Continuing the 20th century, new advancements in technology led to a clear and concise understanding of Quantum mechanics. I urge you to do your own research and find the rest of how we advanced in developing Quantum Physics. Remember Quantum Physics stands as a research theory that enables physicist to understand discrete, indivisible units of energy called "Quanta." Everyday things are Quantum, everything you see is made up of atoms and matter.

J.J Thompson one said "I was once told long afterwards by a distinguished physicist who had been present at my lecture that he taught I had been pulling their leg the whole time..""

Remember an idea is only one step away from a factual event, but only if you put all your hard work and belief into it.
