Setting: The setting of the novel is in London in year 1547. Major Characters: 1. Tom Canty Description He is a pauper who wants to be like a prince. He really loves his mother and sisters. He is very look alike with Prince Edward. 2. Prince Edward Description He is a young prince who is really brave and well mannered. He is very look alike with Tom Canty. He is kind and doesnt forget the kindness of other people to him. Because of this adventure he becomes a very good king. 3. Miles Hendon Description He is a brave and kind man from an honorable family. He kindly helps Prince Edward without purpose, even though he doesnt believe the Prince. Summary: Tom Canty was a poor boy who was forced by his father to be a beggar. His family lived in one small room in an old house in the poorest part of London. In the same house lived Father

Andrew who taught Tom Latin and to be a well mannered boy. Because of Father Andrews encouragement, one day Tom went to Westminster Palace to see the Prince. Tom managed to see Prince Edward. They chatted until they realized their similarity and changed places. Tom Canty stayed in the Palace and became the Prince while Prince Edward went out in the street and became a poor boy. Nobody realized that Edward was the Prince and Tom was not. Prince Edward wanted to go back to Westminster Palace but he didnt know how. Moreover King Henry VIII, his father, died so he became a King; he should go back to the Palace to be crowned. Fortunately, he met Miles Hendon who kindly wanted to help him though he did not believe that Edward was the Prince. With Sir Miles, Prince Edward struggled to go back to Westminster Palace. Even though they faced some obstacles, in the end they succeed to get back to the Palace. Right before Tom Canty was crowned, Prince Edward managed to assure the noblemen that he was the real Prince by telling the exact location of the Great Seal. Finally, Prince Edward was crowned as the new king of England. He gave back Miles Hendons house and land. Tom lived in the palace as the Kings best friend and he gave a nice house to his mother and sisters, while his fathers existence was never known. The major conflict: The conflict of the story was when Prince Edward and Tom Canty changed clothes and they tried to get back to their real places. How does this story end? Prince Edward was crowned as the King of England. Sir Miles Hendon got his house and land back. Tom Canty lived in the Palace as the Kings best friend and he gave a nice house to his mother and sisters, while John Canty was never seen again. Theme: The true friendship among people with very difference social status. Moral values: Make a good friendship with any people without look at their personal status. Connection between the moral value to my personal life: Personally, I have a good relationship with friends from other religion and social status. We are living in harmony, visiting each other and supporting each other. We are happy with this condition.
