HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 9:00 & 10:45A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER Chronological Bible Reading: Daniel 4-6; 1 John 5 Monday, December 2 Luke 15:18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, Loving Father: Thank you for washing away my sin in Christs precious blood. I do not need to confess like a criminal before a judge, because Christ bore my entire penalty on Calvary. I cannot stand condemned, because I am Eph. 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. But Lord, being your child, I also offend like a child. Every day I need to come to you as my heavenly Father, confess my sins, and acknowledge my iniquity. I offend daily, so I cannot rest without forgiveness daily. Wash my conscience by the cleansing power of your word! 2 Cor. 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. If I do not seek this forgiveness, then fellowship is broken. I stand at a distance and follow afar off. I doubt your love. I am afraid to pray. I become like the prodigal son, who while still the fathers child, was far off from the father. Give me a childs sorrow at offending so gracious and loving a parent. And bring that same sense of sin to __________ and to __________, and save them! After having confessed my own sin, I feel not only a love to you, but a constraint to tell others this gospel. Let me go through my day, not just saved, but enjoying present peace through Jesus Christ my Lord. I do not confess my sin as a culprit, but as a child. Motivate me by your cleansing to take the gospel to those who are still criminals and outlaws from your grace. Your arms are the place for them. Help them see that, even through my witness to them. So I ask for Jesus glory. Amen. A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING Chronological Bible Reading: Hosea 1-3; Jude Thursday, December 5 Luke 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS TEACHINGS Chronological Bible Reading: Daniel 7-9; 2 John Tuesday, December 3 Luke 14:10 But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. Jesus, Friend of Sinners: Each week I see new people in our church, visitors in whose lives grace is starting to work, and on whose hearts your Spirit is bringing conviction. Give them even more of a sense of need as they come in contact with me. Let that poverty of spirit increase until they practically beg me to show them how to get saved! Give them a soul conscious of their guilt, and humbled by it, cast them to the earth with a sense of worthlessness to stand in the presence of God at the end of their life. Help them take the lowest room, so Jesus can say, Come up hither. You are a God who can create or destroy. Give all of us a sense of holy awe at that, and send your Spirit to transform the terror of the lost into a fear of God, and then a reverence for Christ. Take their overwhelming dread and exchange it for a scriptural hope through the gospel. All the lost people I know! They are all called up higher, to a greater access to God in Christ Jesus. Embolden me to give them the gospel. Make them thirsting and ready to receive it, so they can flee to a shelter under the twin wings of the blood and the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Make them see the love of God for them, and his mercy and grace available by faith. Please, Sir! For a while, prostrate them before your infinite glory so they can be eternally positioned as your child. Give me the power of your Spirit and the presence of mind to have just the right words to say, and to give just the right answer. I want them to be accepted in the beloved, and so I ask for these things in the Beloveds name and on the basis of the Beloveds merits. Amen. FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY Chronological Bible Reading: Hosea 4-6; Revelation 1 Friday, December 6 Psa. 80:14 Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine; O Lord Our Vinedresser: How you love your people! You put all the saints in the hand of Jesus, and then give us Jesus as our leader, commander and husband. We know you delight to hear our cry, because you care for him. You are always ready to give us the benefits of the covenant you made with Christ. Behold and visit your vine! Look on our church and those you have called, that Christ has redeemed with his blood, whose hearts he has won, and who are his own in this world. Keep your people for Jesus sake. Though we are in the world, let us not be of it. May there be a marked difference between the church and the rest of mankind; between our church and the rest of this city! Heb. 7:26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Even as he was, let us be in this world. Help us follow him and not listen to the voice of strangers. We cry to you today for the preservation of your church, especially for our purity. Oh Father, guard us, so the Evil One cannot touch us. We will be tempted, but let him not prevail. In a thousand ways he lays snares, but oh, deliver us and make a way of escape with each one. Let not your church suffer dishonor at any time. May our garments always be white. Do not let wolves come in and spoil us. Oh Christ, just like you groaned regarding Lazarus, so do we groan to you concerning those who have fallen away and turned aside into crooked paths. Cover us with your love. Keep us even until you come. You are the bridegroom. Guard us as the bride, and make us live to your praise in your eternal purpose. Amen. WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING Chronological Bible Reading: Daniel 10-12; 3 John Wednesday, December 4 2 Cor. 1:7 And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation. Lord of All Power and All Might: Let your merciful ears be open now to my humble prayers. In order for me to receive revival, help me ask for things according to your will that will please you through Jesus Christ the Lord. Your mighty power is best declared in showing mercy and pity. Give me now such a measure of your grace that as I run in the way of your will, I can acquire your promises, accomplish your mission, and be made a partaker of your heavenly inheritance. We have languished so long; now revive us again! You are always more ready to hear than I am to pray, and your tendency is to give me more than I either desire or deserve. Pour down the abundance of your mercy in revival, Lord! Forgive me those things of which my conscience is afraid, and give me those things of which I am not worthy to ask, except through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christyour Son and my Lord. It is only by your grace-gift that I can do true and acceptable service to you. Help me to so faithfully serve you today I do not fail to receive the heavenly promises. Give me the increase of faith, hope, and charity, so I can obtain that which your word says I should have. Make me love what you command and hate what you forbid. Guard and keep everyone in our church today from sin by your persistent mercy, because our frailty without you cannot but fail. Preserve me by your help from all things hurtful, and lead me into all things profitable for spiritual growth. Let your continual pity cleanse and defend me by Jesus blood. I cannot continue in blessing without your sustenance. Preserve me by your help and goodness, for so I ask it to Jesus glory and your eternal praise. Amen. SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS Chronological Bible Reading: Hosea 7-9; Revelation 2 Saturday, December 7 Psa. 19:12-13 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. Holy Lord and Glorious Father: I am moved by this scripture to marvel at the number and the seriousness of my sins. I feel like I need to write a library of retractions for all I have said and done against you. Truly my heart is treacherous if left alone to itself, and my ways are wicked without you. My secret sins are private conspirators against all the Holy Spirit wants to do through me. Help me hunt them down before they do deadly damage. Make me much in prayer against them. Unless restrained by grace I could fall into the worst of sins. Help me watch and pray so I dont even enter into such temptation. Hold me backwith bit and bridlefrom my natural propensity to sin. Help me defeat the ones that do so easily beset me. This prayer is only words, and it is a mockery if my heart does not meditate in your word to gain spiritual strength. Help me in prayer to look to the strong for strength, and view you as my Redeemer as much from daily sin as from the sins of my past. That is the only way I will pray aright. Psa. 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. In this Psalm David began with the heavens and ended with the One whose glory fills all heaven and earth. Blessed Redeemer, let me now open my heart to meditate acceptably on your love and tenderness and strength. Make the grace of God the theme of my thinking today. Let me not be even one hour without thinking of him whose wounds paid for my sins! I ask it in his name. Amen.

JOY to the world! the Lord is come; let earth receive her King
Let evry heart prepare Him room, and heavn and nature sing, And heavn and nature sing, and heavn and heavn and nature sing. Joy to the world! the Savior reigns; let men their songs employ, While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains repeat the sounding joy, Repeat the sounding joy, repeat, repeat the sounding joy. No more let sin and sorrow grow, nor thorns infest the ground. He comes to make His blessings flow far as the curse is found, Far as the curse is found, far as, far as the curse is found. He rules the world with truth and grace, and makes the nations prove The glories of His righteousness, and wonders of His love, And wonders of His love, and wonders, wonders of His love. PRAYER DIARY

1)

TIMEWORSHIP Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily devotions. 2) TITHEWORK 1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our resources. 3) TEAMWORD Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the same things over and over. This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you through the Bible chronologically in a year. Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying. Alan

SUNDAY DECEMBER 15 TH 11:00A.M.

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had prayed. Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition. God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son. Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
