Instructions: Start by entering the spell name in cell A1 and selecting the spell type on cell A3. This will populate all the drop downs in column A. Select the desired choices on each category. You can have up to two modifiers in each section, both will be reflected in the cost. The final cost on cell B3 will populate on real time with each choice. Input the stats of your spellcaster in the research throw section to figure out the research throw. If you are looking for a henchmen to do the research, the values are given below, both for trying to find a level appropriate one, and for having it as your henchment in character creation. To make the research rolls, click on the Start rolling cell (K23) and select the value from the dropdown list, that should reflect the next available roll. Once you get a success, the only available option will be "Completed". The rolls are one shot only, so make sure that you have all the information properly entered before starting. If you want to add more options to the spells, include them at the appropriate column on the Lists sheet. The drop downs will update automatically. To research more than one spell, use additional copies of the Excel tool.
