Chapter 3 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY This chapter provides the reader a picture of the

methods and procedures used in this study. It includes the research design, research instrument, research subject,

data collection procedure, statistical treatment of data, and sampling procedure. Research Design This study is designed to investigate and to discover facts regarding the income of Internet Cafs in Poblacion, Lingayen. A questionnaire was used to obtain information on the Income of every Internet Caf and data were gathered through actual interview. Research Instrument This study utilized a questionnaire in gathering and drawing all the information needed in the analysis in this study. It permits to obtain the total monthly income of Internet Cafs. The questionnaire will be accompanied by an actual interview.

Research Methodology 46 Research Subject Poblacion is one of the 32 barangays in Lingayen, the capital of the province of Pangasinan, the heartland of the Philippines. The main focus of this study is to generate the best possible model for Poblacion, Lingayen that will be used in forecasting the Income of Internet Cafs with the number of computer units, number of operational hours, expenses on salary and wages, computer rental fee per hour and internet provider bill as its determining factors. Data Collection Procedure With the aid of a questionnaire, data that were used in this study were collected through actual interview of every Internet Caf belonging to the sample. The interview was conducted to the manager or any personnel of the

Internet Caf who is responsible in the management of the business finances or in their absence, any member who can give reliable information on their Internet Cafs

financial conditions and other details. The researchers conducted an enumeration in Poblacion, Lingayen to determine the current total number of Internet Cafs and were also done for ease of determining the

selected samples in Poblacion, Lingayen.
