Purpose of the NTE QUICKCross

NTE QUICKCross software for Windows is designed to help you quickly locate the optimal replacement device for more than 470,000 OEM device numbers. The NTE QUICKCross will help you find replacements for semiconductors, relays, capacitors, resistors, potentiometers, hookup wire, solder, and other products System Requirements: QUICKCross 10 requires a PC running Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows XP, Windows 2000, or Windows NT. 32 Mbytes of RAM are required, but 64 Mbytes or more is recommended. A minimum screen resolution of 800 x 600 pixels minimum is required (1024 x 768 pixel resolution is recommended).

NTE Web-Based Data Sheets

NTE QUICKCross, version 10 continues the tradition of linking you to our Web-based datasheets. This means you can click a link in this software to view a web page data sheet or a PDF (Portable Document Format) data sheet. To access our web-based data sheets, just make sure you are connected to the Internet when you are using the NTE QUICKCross. If you wish to view our PDF (Portable Document File) files, please make sure you have the free Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC. To install this software (which displays PDF files for you), please install Adobe Acrobat from the QUICKCross installation CD. When you are viewing our PDF datasheets, you can view them and/or print them as desired. If you downloaded the NTE QUICKCross software, you can visit our web site to download the free Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Basic Procedure for Using the NTE QUICKCross

1. Select the Product Line of interest by selecting the Search Icon, the proper Tool Bar icon or by clicking on "Product Line" from the Menu Bar. 2. If you selected Capacitors, Resistors, Hookup Wire, or Solder, the NTE QUICKCross will provide you the information or present a menu of product categories to select from. 3. If you selected the Search Icon option, you can perform a Partial Device Number search on semiconductors, relays, or trimmers and potentiometers.

The NTE Tool Bar

The Tool Bar at the top of the QUICKCross window offers several Icons that provide a quick, straight-forward way to perform the NTE QUICKCross functions. The tool bar icon lets you search the NTE cross reference database for semiconductor, relay and potentiometer replacement parts. You can also access the Capacitor Product Category, Resistor Product Category, Hookup Wire, ECG Products, Other Products, Information, and Help.

Semiconductors
NTE offers the industrys largest replacement semiconductor line, replacing over 385,000 OEM device numbers. Use this option to find the correct NTE device number for virtually any part number you may wish to replace.

Relays
NTE provides a broad selection of replacement relays for more than 85,000 electromechanical, solid state, and microcomputer-controlled relays. Use this option to find the correct NTE replacement relay for virtually any OEM number.

Capacitors
NTE offers a wide assortment of high-quality replacements for virtually any capacitor requirement. Use this option to produce a menu of capacitor types. From the menu, simply select the type of capacitor you are interested in.

NTE Potentiometers and Trimmers

NTE is proud to announce the addition of our new potentiometer and trimmer line. These highquality replacement potentiometers, trimmers, and dials from industry leaders Precision Electronic Components Ltd. (P.E.C.) of Canada and Spectrol Electronics Ltd. of the U.K. bring you a complete, high quality line of replacements for virtually any potentiometer or trimmer need.

Resistors
NTE offers a broad array of high-quality replacements for virtually any resistor requirement. Use this option to produce a menu of resistor types. From the menu, simply select the type of resistor you are interested in.

ECG Products
NTE now offers ECG products that span the gamut from Antenna Rotators to Test Equipment.

NTE Hookup Wire

NTE offers over 500 types of hookup wire in an assortment of colors and gauges including automotive, Teflon, 300V hook-up, 600V hook-up, clear speaker, and black/red bonded parallel speaker wire.

NTE QUICKCross Searches

To conduct a search for a semiconductor, relay, or potentiometer replacement device, click the Search Icon in the QUICKCross Tool Bar. You will then be able to conduct a substring search across the database of your choosing.

Substring Search
This type of search looks at every character of every device number in the database and locates all device numbers that contain the string of characters (the substring) that you entered at the prompt. For instance, a search on "30201" will locate "30201031" as well as "09302010" and "5330201."

Fast Partial Device Number Search

Use this search if you know the first few characters of the device number you wish to replace. The NTE QUICKCross immediately jumps to the proper place in the database to quickly locate all part numbers that begin with the characters you type in. Your results - if any - will be displayed in the Search Results Screen.

Full Partial Device Number Search

Use this search if you dont know the first few characters of the device number wish to replace. This type of search is thorough. The NTE QUICKCross conducts a true substring search on every device number in the database and lists every device number containing the substring that you typed in. Your results - if any - will be displayed in the Search Results Screen.

Displaying Footnotes
When a device contains a footnote, the "" symbol appears in the Search Results Screen. To view the footnote, just click the "" symbol.

Print
Select this option to print information. Print Text prints the information text windows. Print Search Results prints the Search Results Screen which results when you conduct a Fast or Full Partial Device Number Search. Print Information Request Screen prints the Information request Form, a form that you can fill in and mail to NTE for further information.

Search Results Screen

This is the screen that the NTE QUICKCross produces whenever it conducts a successful Fast Partial Device Number Search or Full Partial Device Number Search.

You have a number of options in this window. You may resize the box by dragging its sided or corners. You may resize columns by dragging the right edge of the column headers. You can view footnotes (when they are present) by clicking on the down-arrow next to the device number. You can print the entire listing by clicking the Print Button. You can print a range of device numbers and print just the selected text if you wish. To copy selected text to the clipboard, select the text you want to copy by positioning the cursor to the left of the first cell of information you wish to include, then "dragging" (pressing the left mouse button down and continue holding it down) the mouse to include the final cell of information you wish to include, then letting the left mouse button go. After you select the text, click the Print Button to it. Double-click a device number to see all the information in a condensed form. Click the Copy Button to copy this to the Windows Clipboard. You can "paste" this information to another document or file by placing your cursor at the insertion point, then pressing "Crtl-V" (that is, by holding down the "Ctrl" key, then, while still holding it down, pressing the "V" key, then releasing both buttons at the same time. Web-Based Data Sheet - Click the "Click here" option to link to the NTE Web Site to view the data sheet for the selected device.

Text Display
Whenever you display information for resistors, capacitors and several other categories of devices, you will see a text display. You may resize the window to suit your preferences. Use the scroll bar(s) to move through the information. Your options include the ability to Print, Copy the selected text to the Windows Clipboard, or Close the window. To copy selected text to the clipboard, select the text you want to copy by positioning the cursor to the left of the first character you wish to include, then "dragging" (pressing the left mouse button down and continue holding it down) the mouse to include the final character you wish to include, then letting the left mouse button go. After you select the text, click the Copy Button to copy the text to the Windows Clipboard. You can "paste" this information to another document or file by placing your cursor at the insertion point, then pressing "Crtl-V" (that is, by holding down the "Ctrl" key, then, while still holding it down, pressing the "V" key, then releasing both buttons at the same time.
