The benefits of short term confidential consultancy/project support work or a longer term R&D programme can include increased product and structural reliability, greater manufacturing efficiency and enhanced profitability. There are three main ways for such services to be provided:
Funded by one industrial Member company for their sole benefit and strictly confidential Also known as Joint Industry Project (JIP), the Group Sponsored projects are funded by a number of industrial Member companies, usually to address the shared needs of a particular industry Pre-competitive research funded in conjunction with national governments or the European Union
