Clean Air for Industry

Turbotak Atomizing Nozzles

Turbotak Atomizing Nozzles finely atomize water, high viscosity liquids, and slurries by means of compressed air or steam. Droplet sizes are accurately controlled by adjusting gas and liquid flows, and operating pressure. The patented nozzles are particularly resistant to abrasion and plugging, and relatively insensitive to the physical properties of the material sprayed. Specified to match the application, Turbotak Atomizing Nozzles are available in any suitable material of construction, including 316L stainless, hardened steel, Hastelloy, ceramics, stellite, thermoplastics and other machinable materials. Applications include gas cooling and conditioning, particulate scrubbing, gas absorption, spray drying, waste fuel combustion, and dust suppression.

Two-Phase Nozzles Turbotak Nozzles use compressed air or steam to atomize liquids. Gas and liquid mix within the nozzle to create a critical sonic-flow mixture. The larger orifice and lower pressure results in reduced erosion and plugging of the nozzle.

Superior Droplet Control A hallmark of the Turbotak Atomizing Nozzle is its superior control over the size distribution of droplets. Droplet size is controlled from 5 to 200 microns simply by adjusting liquid flow and air pressure.

Rugged Lance Design Turbotak Atomizing Nozzles are mounted on lances for easy installation, inspection and maintenance. The rugged, thick-walled lances are resistant to corrosion and abrasion. TurboSonics design features an outer air pipe that keeps the lance cool minimizing distortion due to heat.

TurboSonic matches the lance to the application and the physical shape of the vessel. Controls Complete control systems, ranging from low-cost manual controls to sophisticated automatic controls for interfacing with process control systems, are available with Turbotak Atomizing Nozzles.

Atomize a Variety of Liquids Including slurries, oils and high viscosity sludgesvirtually any pumpable liquid. Proven to Perform For over twenty years, Turbotak Atomizing Nozzles have been on the job in thousands of plants around the world.

Custom Designed The Turbotak Atomizing Nozzle is available in many configurations to produce the precise performance you require. Single orifice nozzles produce a full cone spray with a 15 total spray angle. The multiple orifice nozzle provides larger flow capacities and wider spray angles.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES Spray capacities of less than 0.1 gpm to over 100 gpm in a single nozzle Precise droplet size control: 5 to 200 micron Steam and other gases may be used instead of compressed air for specific applications Resistant to plugging for minimum maintenance; resistant to abrasion for long life Spray angles designed for optimum coverage Quieter than other air-atomized nozzles Wide spray coverage and high spray capacity means fewer nozzles, fewer controls More efficient atomization means lower energy consumption THE TURBOTAK ADVANTAGE Turbotak Atomizing Nozzles are able to atomize liquids to smaller droplets while using the lowest energy per gpm. Droplets: Size Matters Droplet size is crucial in nozzle applications. By atomizing a given volume of liquid to smaller droplets, the surface area and number of droplets is increased. The result is better contacting. Acid Gas Scrubbing The quantity of acid gas transferred to the liquid phase is proportional to the interfacial (surface) area. Evaporative Gas Cooling Smaller droplets evaporate faster for dry operationcrucial for operations with baghouses and ESPs. Reduced Chemical Usage Smaller drops provide faster reactions, greater efficiency and reduced chemical usage. Combustion Rapid vaporization ensures a much faster and cleaner burn. APC Equipment Performance Upgrades By retrofitting existing APC equipment, such as ESPs, Venturi scrubbers and packed towers, with Turbotak Atomizing Nozzles, performance can be improved at a fraction of the cost of new equipment.
