Key Features

Radio Trace (GSM, WCDMA, LTE, CDMA, WiFi) and Layer 3 decoding
The technology monitors (GSM, WCDMA, LTE, CDMA) change automatically when the network technology changes. With a long click on the tab header of the technology monitors (channel, data, cell and coverage) the display technology could be set manual. The WiFi monitor is displayed only by an active WiFi interface.

The layer 3 trace monitor is a list monitor that displays the header information of layer 3 messages. You can disable protocol or message group items in the monitor settings. QualiPoc writes the layer 3 information to the MF independent of the filter settings. The messages could be fully decoded and displayed in a pop-up window. For closing the pop-up just double-click on the pop-up or press the back button.

IP Trace and PCAP (logging /decoding)

The IP trace monitor is a list monitor that displays header information from HTTP, FTP, DNS, ICMP, POP3, IMAP, SMTP, RTSP, RTP, TLS and TCP packages. If you want, you can disable protocol items in the monitor settings. Touch an item on the screen to view the decoded package. The logging of a PCAP file is configurable in the job settings.

Forcing (technology, band, preferred UARFCN)

You can force the technology and the bands that device should connect to. The list of available frequency bands depends on the capabilities of the device. One some devices additional a preferred UARFCN forcing is available. Please note that this affects only the UARFCN selection directly after a phone start-up. As a result, several QualiPoc functions are unavailable in USB mode. QualiPoc does not update WCDMA Cell ID in dedicated mode. Use a BTS list to update the Cell ID in dedicated mode. BTS lists must be in CSV format on the SD card. For each technology (GSM, WCDMA, LTE) a separate CSV is needed. Each row in the CSV file corresponds to a cell and must have the following format:

o o o

GSM: Cell-Name,Technology,BCCH,BSIC,Lon,Lat,MCC,MNC,LAC,CellId,Direction WCDMA: Cell-Name,Technology,UARFCN,PSC,Lon,Lat,MCC,MNC,LAC,CellId,Direction LTE: Cell-Name,Technology,EARFCN,PhyCID,Lon,Lat,MCC,MNC,TAC,CellId,Direction

For MMS testing it is recommended to disable automatically retrieve of multimedia messages (Android Messaging >> Settings). The SwissQual firmware version could be checked in the about menu. Android firmware updates from device manufactures are not allowed. On Samsung Exynos based devices (GT-I9305, GT-N7105, ) the noise reduction (Call Settings > Additional settings) has to be enabled to prevent audio gain issues.

Known Limitations
