Applications are invited for the post of Director in the Nabakrushna Crtoudhury Centre for Development
Studies, Bhubaneswar (an ICSSR research institute established in 1987 in collaboration with the
Government of Orissa).
1. Qualification and age limits
Qualifications for selection of the Director shall be the same as prescribed by the ICSSR / U.G.C. from
time to time for selection of Professor in Social Sciences, Particularly in Economics, Sociology or
Anthropology. He / She should be a scholar of national eminence in the sphere of social science
having adequate organization and administrative experience, must be capable of guiding and conducting
interdisciplinary research of fundamental as well as applied nature and field studies and must have
publications of high standard. The candidate for the post of Director, at the time of entry, should
preferably be below 55 years but the age limit may be relaxed in exceptional cases by the Government.
2. Compensation Package
(1)Efly.:- (a) Rs. 16,400-22,4007- per month with admissible dearness and other allowances as
admissible under the rules.
(b) For retired Government Servants, pay may be fixed according to the reemployment rules i.e., pay
on re-employment + pension shall not exceed the last pay while in service. Allowances will be paid
as admissible under the rules. (2)Accommodation:- The Director is entitled to rent free
accommodation or house rent. (3) Other perquisites:- Miscellaneous perquisites as per rules shall
be available to the Director.
3. Tenure
The tenure of appointment is ordinarily for a term of three years which may be extended for such
period as would be decided by the State Government but in no case he / she shall be allowed to
continue beyond 65 years of age.
4. Last Date of Submission of Application
Applications along with detailed curriculum vitae (specifying inter-alia, the organization and
administrative experience, evidences and capability of guiding and conducting interdisciplinary-
research of fundamental as well as applied nature and fields studies and particulars of publications
of high standard), two passport size photographs and superscribing the envelope ‘application for
the post of Director, NCOS’ must reach the Secretary of Nabakrushna Choudhury Centre for

5. Selection
The Director shall be appointed by the Govt, on the recommendations of the Selection Committee
(which is constituted by the Govt, in consultation with the Indian Council of Social Service Research,

II. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
The candidates must have passed Graduation in any discipline with Diploma in Computer Application
(DCA) from a recognized institute and should have minimum speed of 80 words per minute in
shorthand and 40 words per minute in type writing.
NOTE: The authority reserves the right of short listing the candidates on the basis of educational
qualification including knowledge in Computer operation.
III. AGE {As on 01.01.2009)
Above 18 years and below 35 years. (Upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years in case of ST

IV. FEE
Applications must be accompanied by a non-refundable Treasury Challan in original showing

VII. METHOD OF RECRUITMENT TEST
The candidates are required to attend the Stenography test and computer test. A candidate securing

THE AWARD
Each Award consists of one mounted gold coin, one shawl and a citation. In addition financial
assistance to the extent of Rs. 6.00 lakhs will be given to each selected Shilp Guru to innovate and
create five new products of high level of excellence, high aesthetic value and high quality befitting
the stature of the Guru. ELIGIBILITY Any Indian Mastercraftsperson who is either a National
Awardee or a State Awardee of exceptional standing or Mastercraftperson of extra ordinary skills
and who is not below the age of 55 years and he/she has contributed significantly to the welfare
and development of the craft and craft community is eligible to apply. SUBMISSION OF

Termination of Contract The contractual engagement can be terminated by either party
by giving 30 days’ notice in writing or remuneration in lieu thereof
without assigning any reasons whatsoever.
Job Profile The contractual engagement shall be purely a marketing
assignment and the person shall be responsible for development
of business of the channel in which he/she is engaged.
Engagement may be to any of the existing alternate channels
(P&GS/CLIA/B&AC/ Direct Marketing) or to any new. alternate
channel which may be introduced in future.Senior Marketing
Executives engaged in Pension & Group Schemes (P&GS) shall
be responsible for the growth of new business under various P&GS

Senior Marketing Executives engaged in Direct Marketing will
be responsible for recruiting, training and operationalising Direct
Sales Executives to tap the untapped market segments and
position specific products. They will also be required to approach
High Networth Customers and other specified customers lor
high end business and have overall responsibility of expanding
the Corporation’s business in their area.
Remuneration Remuneration package shall be Rs. 600,0007- per annum
(Rupees Six Lacs Only) which includes Employee & Employer’s
contribution to Provident Fund & contribution to Gratuity,
wherever applicable. The package components shall be 70%
fixed and 30% variable. Variable components shall be based
on the performance criteria. Annual reset of remuneration may
be considered based on annual appraisal of performance up to
a maximum of 10% of the previous year’s remuneration.
Selection Procedure Selection of candidates will be based on performance in Group
Discussion / Interview and or written test, if need arise.
Candidates will be tested for their knowledge in General
Awareness, Financial Products, Marketing Skills, Aptitude, Flair
for interaction with customers, etc. Candidates qualifying in
the Group Discussion/Interview and/or written test shall appear
for a pre­selection medical examination. Candidates found
medically fil in the pre­selection medical examination will be
engaged as Sr. Marketing Executives.
Application Fee A crossed Bank Demand Draft for Rs. 300/- valid for six months
drawn in favour of ‘Life Insurance Corporation of India’ payable

Working Hours There shall be no fixed working hours as they may be required

rate of one day for each completed month. Not more than 6
days casual leave can be availed at a stretch.They are also
entitled to 30 days earned leave in a year at the rate of 2.5
days leave for each completed month. However, leave cannot
be claimed as a matter of right and may be granted subject to
convenience of office. In no case, short duration earned leave
of less than three days shall be sanctioned. Under special
circumstances, Extra Ordinary Leave without remuneration can
be granted for the period subject to a maximum of 30 days
during the engagement period of three years. Remuneration
shall be reduced proportionately depending upon the number
of days extra ordinary leave is availed. No other leave shall be
admissible and any absence not covered by leave shall be on
loss of remuneration and shall have effect or continuation of
the contract. Leave cannot be claimed as a matter of right.
Training Candidates selected as Senior Marketing Executives shall be
imparted specific job related training which shall be decided
by the engaging authority.
Conduct & Discipline A Senior Marketing Executive who displays inefficiency or
indolence or who knowingly does anything detrimental to the
interests of the Corporation, or causes financial loss to the
Corporation by his acts or who commits a breach of discipline,
or is guilty of any other act prejudicial to good conduct be
imposed any of the following penalties:
a) Recovery from remuneration of such other amount due to
him and /or loss caused to the Corporation,
b) Reduction in Remuneration
c) Termination of contractual engagement.
