After looking through the list of libraries available on the Purdue Libraries home page, I decided that there were three libraries that I might find very useful during my college career at Purdue University. Considering the major of Agricultural and Biological Engineering, the Life Sciences, Siegesmund Engineering, and Earth, Atmosphere, and Planetary Science Libraries will provide resources that a student in this major will need for future projects and assignments. Although each of these libraries may be useful, I think that the Life Sciences Library will be the most useful. The Life Sciences Library is located in Lilly Hall of Sciences. Its available resources include study tables and access to the librarys resources from twenty ITAP computers.

B. The five databases that I might use are: GREENR, ASABE Online Technical Library, IEEE Xplore, Food Science and Technology Abstracts, and Environmental Engineering Abstracts. The Environmental Engineering Abstracts Database is a source to world literature covering agricultural methods and use of equipment, engineered ways to provide sustainable energy and power sources, and detailed explanations on how to improve air, water, and soil quality in the environment. The ASABE Technical Library provides a collection of journals provided by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers that give information similar to monitoring certain aspects of environments around the world, performances of different sustainable energy and power supplies, and food production techniques. The GREENR database provides academic journals covering everything from Agriculture and Food Systems to resource management to social factors that affect the environment and pollution prevention.

The Food Sciences and Technology Abstracts database covers the production and distribution of food in our economy. The journals give information about food packaging that improves solubility and stability, prevents odor, improves solutions of recycling individual packaging, and enhancing the quality of nutrition within the food products. The IEEE Xplore database provides journals with information over food safety, statistics of data related to environments all over the world, and evaluations of environments based on certain theories.

C. The best journals/academic publishers in the ABE field are the Civil Engineering Abstracts, Ei Engineering Village, Environmental Engineering Abstracts, IEEE Xplore, NTIS, Specifications and Standards, ASABE Technical Library, GREENR, Environmental Engineering Abstracts, Food Science and Technology Abstracts, and the ABI inform databases.
