Short Method. Some Scott valve users, MSA valve users and other SCBA brand users attach a THREAD SAVER to each cylinder using the nylon string included. The NIOSH approval of the SCBA, may be affected by doing this. NIOSH states that attaching any equipment to an SCBA, like flashlights, PASS devices, equipment clips, etc., will void their approval.
