Deal the cards to each player until all have been dealt. The cards should be face down. 2. Each player should now have a pile of cards, face down. 3. The players flip over their top card at the same time and place them in the middle. 4. The players must then find the sum of the 2 cards. 5. The player to say the correct answer first gets to keep both cards. 6. The game continues until each players pile of cards is gone. 7. The player with the most cards at the end of the game is the winner. You can play this game with 3 or 4 people. Instead of finding the sum of only 2 numbers, students would have to add three or four numbers together.

Make a 10
Number of Players: 2-4 Materials: One Deck of Cards (Make sure you have sorted out the card so that you only have partners for 10, ex. 9 and 1, 8 and 2, etc. You can keep the face cards; those will equal 10 on their own.) How to Play: 1. Shuffle the cards. Place the all of the cards face side down (as if you were playing memory) 2. Play rock, paper, scissors to see who will go first 3. Player 1 turns over 2 cards. If these 2 cards equal 10 the player keeps the cards and it is the next players turn. If the cards do not equal 10, the player turns them back over and it is the next players turn. If the player turns over a face card, that equals 10, they do not need to turn over another card. 4. Player 2 turns over 2 cards. If these 2 cards equal 10 the player keeps the cards and it is the next players turn. If the cards do not equal 10, the player turns them back over and it is the next players turn. 5. Continue taking turns making matches that equal 10. Once all of the cards are gone the game is over. 6. The player with the most cards at the end of the game is the winner. Variation: Using the same deck of cards, you can play Make a 10 in another way. This game is similar to Go Fish. Give each player 5 cards, leave the rest in a pile in the middle. Instead of making number matches, players will work to make matches that equal 10. For instance, if they have a 9 in their hand, they would want to ask another player for a 1 to make a 10. The player with the most cards at the end of the game is the winner.
