OBrien has 40 plus years of heat transfer expertise in the power industry. Our proven design methods provide reliable and reproducible performance under the most stringent process conditions. Extreme temperature applications such as high-pressure drums, turbine inlets and main steam headers, are often part of design considerations. Temperatures up to 1200F (650C) are common and OBrien buffered TRACEPAK products offer the total solution to the most demanding applications. OBrien TRACEPAK uses a unique parallel construction for bundles with multiple tubes. Unlike typical cabled bundles, TRACEPAK is much easier to bend and can be bent to a much tighter bending radius for compact installations. High temperature end sealant is also critical to the total OBrien solution providing insulation and weatherproofing for high temperature process connections.
FEA is used to check conditions at the low and high ambient with and without blowdown. Bundle designs are segregated into groups by exposure temperature with the following break points: 420F, 650-700F, 850-900F and 1200F (215C, 340-370C, 450-480C, and 650C).
Finite element predictive modeling indicates bundle performance at low and high ambient conditions.
