Published 15 May 2010
What is UAC Trust Shortcut 1.0?
UAC Trust Shortcut 1.0 is a free software tool that you can use to make shortcuts of
specific programs in your Personal Computer (PC). The tool allows you to tell UAC which
programs you do not want a prompt for.

UAC Trust Shortcut 1.0 like many other friendly and UAC designed programs will allow
you to open the program without prompts. However, once you want to add a new
shortcut then you must click the Add another program button. If the UAC shield is on the
button then the program will restart in UAC elevation mode, but if the shield icon does
not appear on the button, fine continue to create shortcuts.

Once youve clicked Add now a shortcut will be created on the
desktop (See picture on the left side).

The Windows Registry shortcut has been created.
If we double-click this shortcut Windows Registry will launch
without any UAC prompt.

What to keep in mind?
Once you restart (or shutdown, or logoff) the PC then the shortcuts UAC prompt if you
double-click them. However, they work only if you start the background service which is
installed. The background service can be started from the tray area, however, requires a
user action which means a UAC prompt asks before executing the service. Once the user
gives permission to the service to start then the shortcuts are able to execute without
any UAC prompt.
