A few points on varga charts in chart delineation

1. To get good results in respect of matters pertaining to the divisional (varga) chart, the following should be placed in good houses in the varga kundali: i) The lagna and the lagna lord of the D/1 chart; ii) The lagna and lagna lord (Vargesh) of the Varga chart iii) The Karaka of the varga (Varg Karaka). 2. The lords of D/1 Ascendant, the lord of the Varga lagna and the natural significator should occupy a good house: i) Angles ii) Trines iii) 2nd House and/or 11th House in the natal chart to obtain good results of matters concerning to that varga chart. 3. As significator planets of the Natal chart are important, their positions in the Varga chart should be studied. 4. At the same time, positions of planets in D/1 chart are vital for evaluating the benefic results of a varga chart. 5. A planet in houses 1, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10 & 11 of a varga chart gives auspicious results. 6. A planet in the 2nd house is good for financial matters but could be bad for family relations since it is 8th from the 7th house, the house of spouse.

Planets in houses 3rd, 6th 8th and 12th or associated with the lords of 3rd, 6th, 8th and 12th in the varga chart are unfavorable and could bring bad effects regarding the subject matters of the divisional chart. 9. Exception to rule mentioned in point no. 8: i) Saturn in the 8th house ii) Mars in the 6th house iii) Venus in the 12th house 10.Combinations for Vipareet Raj Yogas: i) 6th lprd in the 8th or 12th ii) 8th lord in 6th or 12th iii) 12th lord in 6th or 8th In the above combinations, the native, after initial set backs, progresses, accomplishes, rises and gets prosperity in the latter part of life.

11.Upachaya Houses: They are 3rd, 6th, 10th and 11th houses, also known as progress houses. If the lord of D/1 chart (lagnesh) or lord of the divisional chart (vargesh) or malefic planets like the Sun, Mars, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu or functional malefic, namely, lords of 3rd, 6th, 8th or 12th houses placed in these houses assist the native to progress and achieve in life. 12.Planets in good houses of divisional charts could give positive give results despite weak or ill-placed or functionally malefic in the natal chart. 13. Similarly, benefic and strong of the D-1 chart, if ill-placed, debilitated or conjoined with enemies, natural malefic planets in the divisional charts may not give the desired results during the main or sub periods in matters pertaining to the divisional charts. 14.Planets should be well placed and have dignity in both the D/1 chart and the Divisional charts to give excellent results.
