Dear Brethren around the world,
!

Warm Christian greetings with the following words of the Inspiration:

Wilt thou not revive us again: that Thy people may rejoice in Thee? Show
usThy mercy, O LORD, and grant us Thy salvation. Psalm 85: 6, 7.
A revival of true godliness among us is the greatest and most urgent of all
our needs. To seek this should be our first work.--Review and Herald,
March 22, 1887.
The time has come for a thorough reformation to take place. When this
reformation begins, the spirit of prayer will actuate every believer, and will
banish from the church the spirit of discord and strife.-- Testimonies, vol. 8,
p. 251.
As we make a serious self-examination, we come to the conclusion that a
true revival of the early godliness must take place among us as individuals,
families and the church.
If we are serious about fulfilling the high calling of the Seventh Day
Adventist Reform Movement as a worldwide people, we see no other option
but to seek the Lord with all our heart so that we could be baptized with the
Holy Ghost as in the day of Pentecost to reach souls for Gods Kingdom,
and be instruments in Gods hand in order to finish His work on earth.
As we study the book of Joel we find a sequence of facts about the real
condition of Gods people and the great need of a true revival among us.
In Joel 1:1-12 the prophet describes the terrible condition of the nation of
Israel resulting from their separation from the Lord. Then in verses 13 and
14 is written the first appeal from the Lord: Gird yourselves, and lament, ye

priest: howl, ye ministers of the altar: come, lie all night in sackcloth, ye
ministers of my God. . .Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the
elders [and] all the inhabitants of the land [into] the house of the LORD
your God, and cry unto the LORD.
In chapter 2:12-18, God sends us a strong appeal to return to Him and
the resulting blessing of answering His lovely call: Therefore also now, saith
the LORD, turn ye [even] to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and
with weeping, and with mourning: and rend your heart, and not your
garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for He [is] gracious and
merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth Him of the
evil. Who knoweth [if]He will return and repent, and leave a blessing
behind Him; [even] a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD
your God? Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn
assembly: Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders,
gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go
forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet. Let the priests, the
ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them
say, Spare Thy people, O LORD, and give not Thine heritage to reproach,
that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among
the people, Where [is] their God? Then will the LORD be jealous for His
land, and pity His people.
The first part of the divine appeal is addressed to the ministers and
priests. It does make sense. The ministers are the appointed spiritual leaders
of the people and they should set a good example to the flock. Then God
mentions the elders, the children, the bridegroom, the bride, and so on.
This means a thorough reformation is needed.
Verses 18 and 19 of the same chapter shows the blessings that follow the
revival and reformation.
In verses 28 and 19 we find the promise of the Holy Spirit: And it shall
come to pass afterward, [that] I will pour out My spirit upon all flesh; and
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream
dreams, your young men shall see visions:
And also upon the servants
and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out My spirit
If this prophecy of Joel met a partial fulfillment in the days of the
apostles, we are living in a time when it is to be even more evidently manifest
to the people of God. He will so bestow His Spirit upon His people that
they will become a light amid the moral darkness; and great light will be
reflected in all parts of the world. O that our faith might be increased, that
the Lord might work mightily with His people. 4BC 1175.
Dear brethren, we are living in a very solemn moment in church history.
Very hard times are before Gods people. The work of intercession of
Christ in the most holy place is almost over, and our spiritual condition as a
people isnt the best before God. We really need a deep revival and
reformation in our midst, in all levels.
Understanding that no true revival and reformation can be prosperous
without the word of God, we are recommending to all our people around

the world a deep and regular study of the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy. Special prayer meetings
also are strongly recommended. This will result in more dedicated efforts to reach new souls for
Gods kingdom. But the work needs to start with ministers and in the families of Gods people.
For sure, God is more than willing to bless His people when they, on the other hand, are also
willing to fulfill the conditions found in the word of God, as expressed in 2 Chronicles 7:14:
If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My
face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and
will heal their land.
We find here in this scripture four conditions and three wonderful promises:
Conditions: 1. If Gods people shall humble themselves; 2. And pray; 3. And seek Gods face
with all their heart (Jeremiah 29:13); 4. And turn from their wicked ways.
Promises: 1. I will hear them from heaven; 2. I will forgive their sin; 3. I will heal their land.
We need to take this need of revival and reformation in a very serious way, and if we, by Gods
grace, seek Him with all our heart, for sure He will be found.
Seek ye the LORD while He may be found, call ye upon him while He is near: Let the
wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD,
and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon. Isaiah 55:6,
7.
