Cablevey Update!

The reliability of Cablevey Feeding Systems has been increased drastically through extensive Research and Development. Inspired by applications in Industrial Fields, Cablevey is now being used to convey numerous products such as: Cocoa Powder, Red Beans, Coffee and Equal Sweetener. Many of these applications require 24 hours per day - 7 days per week run time. We have been testing and using new ultra-flex cable, strengthened cable connectors, bronze bushings and many more developments. We are applying this technology to our agriculture products. You can now be assured that Cablevey will perform as a highly reliable feeding system for your application.

The New CABLEVEY Swine Feeding Concepts For Breeding/Gestation Systems

CABLEVEY has something new! Its our 1 - 6 lb. AccuDial Drop with special features.
Sealed Dial to adjust feed level precisely from both sides Infinite Adjustment Feed level adjustable for 1 - 6 lbs. U.S. & Metric Measurements Snap on installation No extra supports required Multi Ration capabilities Available with Positive Close to insure that all drops close, eliminating feed waste Available with Air Trip Opening System which allows for all drops to be dispensed at once Shut off at tube, no stale feed

You will see the benefits of The New CABLEVEY famous automatic gestation system once you install one.
Sows no longer relate management to the feeding process as this system automatically delivers a preselected amount of feed to each sow as many times per day as you wish. All you do is set a time clock. The AccuDial Feed Drop allows you to preselect the optimal amount of feed for each individual sow simply by the turn of a dial. All this means that The New CABLEVEY automatic gestation system helps give you higher litter numbers through sow stress reduction and ideal feeding management. If automatic timed feeding is not for you, CABLEVEY is still the system to use. The system will continue to deliver the feed to each sow. But now you decide to release manually by pulling the handle, up to 100 drops per row, all at one time. Other competitive systems cannot release this many drops at once, causing you more work to feed the sows.

Cablevey Farrowing

Comprised information of farms using The New CABLEVEY Automatic Farrowing Feeding System compared to their conventional feeding methods. 1. Labor Savings of 45% - 50% Feeding 4-6 times per day (24-hour period) compared to 2-3 hand feedings (7-10 hour period). 2. 25% Increase in total feed intake during lactation. 3. Average of 8% Increase in breed back. 4. 1 2 Pounds Increase in weaning weight at 15 17 days with some farms averaging 13.5 to 14.1 pounds.

1 2 Pound Increase in weaning = decreased death loss in nursery. 1 2 Pound Increase in weaning = reduce days to market by 10 days.

Average savings of $5.12 per pig. Average savings of $115.22 per sow per year.

FEEDING SOWS DURING LACTATION MADE SIMPLE

The main thing you need is a Cablevey automatic system, a feed card and a little common sense. THIS IS WHAT WORKS FOR ME: When sows come into the farrowing house, I feed them 4 times a day, 1 pounds per feeding. In our farrowing house, we feed at 2 AM, 8 AM, 2 PM and 8 PM. We change the feeding hours in the summertime because we can get more feed down the sows during the cooler hours. On the day that I induce (113th day), I cut the feed down to 1 pound per feeding. As soon as farrowing begins, feed is shut off until the next day. On day one, I give 1 pounds per feeding. On day two, I give 2 pounds per feeding, on day three, I give 2 pounds per feeding and continue each day moving the feed up pound feeding. WATCH YOUR ANIMALS!!! Older sows will usually eat more than first or second parity animals. If they are not eating maybe they dont feel well and could benefit from an antibiotic. Once you reach the 5th or 6th day, the sows should be eating like crazy. If you come in 2 hours after they are fed and they are standing up talking to you with an empty bowl, you are NOT feeding them enough. If you take the feed intake up slow and steady you can avoid a crash on the 5th, 6th or 7th day. Union Mills Farm Barnes City, Iowa Cathy and Jamie 1-641-644-5153

The Volcylmetric Feed Drop

This exclusive CABLEVEY Lactation system allows you to feed any sow at any time with accuracy. You will no longer use a heavy feed sack or cart because this system delivers the feed directly to each sow. All you have to do is open each Volcylmetric Feed Drop by hand and give the sow precisely what she needs. A feed indicator ring shows the manager what was given at the last feeding, which helps eliminate overfeeding and feed waste. Cleaning out stale feed, which the sows have not consumed, should no longer be a problem. Feeding the sows less amounts more often allows for better milking and increased pounds at weaning. This ideal CABLEVEY management tool is calibrated in 1/2 lbs. and holds 1/2 lb. to 8 lbs. Also available in 11 lb. capacity. Your Return on Investment with the CABLEVEY Volcylmetric Lactation System will result in: Sows milk better.
Get more feed into sows.

Better weaning weights. Less wasted feed (virtually eliminates stale feed from feeders). Better conditioned sow. Increased re-breeding rates. Less time training inexperienced employees. Reduces turn over in employees (more enjoyable). Reduce employee medical expenses (carpal tunnel).

PAYS FOR ITSELF IN LESS THAN 1 YEAR.

Feeding with a scoop is inconsistent and simply not accurate.

The Volcylmetric drop enables accurate and multiple feedings which sows require during different periods of lactation. Farm Managers can visually inspect rooms at anytime to see how much feed has been fed previously and advise employees how to make adjustments accordingly.
