PROBLEM You want to know which field of the BO model is displayed in a specific field on the TM UI. Example: Which BO field is displayed in the UI field Means of Transport on the General Data tab of the freight order UI in SAP TM 9.0?

SOLUTION STEP BY STEP 1. Open the UI for which you want to check for a specific field to which field of the BO it refers and open the context menu (right mouse button) anywhere on the screen. 2. Open the component configuration.

3. Select the field in the Preview tab to show the details for this field to determine the field name.

4. Check the feeder class parameters in the general settings to determine the FBI view.

5. Open a new window via Additional Functions and open the configuration you want to check in the display mode.

6. Here you can see now to which node of which business object the FBI view refers to. If the field that you want to check has no suffix, it comes from this node. If it has a suffix (like MTR_T in the example suffix T), you have to check the Related Views tab. Here you can then see from which related view the field MTR comes from and which association connects the two views. In our case this means that the UI field Means of Transport on the general data tab of the freight order UI is

populated by the field MTR of the main item of the freight order BO (association ROOT >ITEM_TR_MAIN).

FURTHER REMARKS Following these steps all the UI fields that have a direct relation to a field in the BO model can be checked. However there are also other UI fields, that e.g. are filled on-the-fly in some coding, when the UI is displayed. For these fields the corresponding coding has to be checked directly. The screenshots are from a TM 9.0 system. In TM 8.1 And TM 8.0 the screens may look a bit different, but the procedure should more or less be the same.
