AABA is looking to recruit a few mighty men and women, professionals committed to leading their commercial district, those who see the value in creating a better place to work and do business, individuals who recognize the opportunity to make the AirportColiseum district all it can be

Seeing the need for representation of the Airport-Coliseum area at all levels of government, its founders incorporated AABA in 1969 as a 501(c)6 membership organization. As it has for 45 years, AABA provides area news dissemination, avenues for networking, mechanisms for promoting area safety and security, and activities for furthering local economic development.

AABA exists to promote and sustain commerce and industry in the Airport-Coliseum area of Oakland.

AABA is currently expanding its 10-member board to 17 directors, with the overall goal of increasing resources, growing the membership, and building a stronger organization

AABA Board Service

Board meetings occur monthly, each second Thursday, 7:45 AM breakfast, 8:00 9:15 AM meeting Directors serve a 3-year term Directors are expected to:

Be dues-paying members in good standing Provide leadership in furtherance of a project or committee Place a high priority on attending AABA meetings and events Support the organization through sponsorship and/or advertising Serve as goodwill ambassadors for the organization and district Actively support the Airport Area business improvement district effort Consider an officer position upon being nominated by fellow directors Use their special expertise and access to resources to assist the organization in furthering its mission

Come to meetings prepared to contribute fresh ideas and discuss issues of the day

Assist AABA in connecting with new business contacts and potential members

Meet a reasonable annual membership recruitment quota

Take pride in serving as a member of AABAs A Team
