Philosophy
As an offense we will be aggressive. Our offense will be built on reading the flat defenders to throw the bubble screen and reading the backside 5 technique on 80% of our running plays. e will spread the field and attack the defense vertically both in our run ga!e and our pass ga!e. "ery little ti!e will be spent going side to side. e will attack the field vertically with the deep passing ga!e therefore softening the defensive coverage and then gash the! with the quick passing ga!e. Our running ga!e will consist of #one blocking sprinkled with guard inserts and guard$tackle insert sche!es. %his !ay sound confusing now but let !e assure all of you that with practice and study this offense will put our athletes in the best position to !ake plays and co!pete with the talented tea!s in our area. e will be a wide open attack and create as !any opportunities for the big play as possible. &efenses will respect all phases of our offense. 'all (ontrol is very i!portant to an offense. hen an offense can control the ball) it gives the defense a chance to rest. A defense wins cha!pionships* only if the offense scores. +n order to score we have to li!it penalties and turnovers. ,enalties and turnovers kill a drive. e !ust take care of the ball and be sound to drive the ball down the field. All ball carriers should carry the ball the sa!e way and always with two hands in traffic. %he offense should not have drives of three plays and out. +f we li!it penalties* turnovers* and sustain drives* the opponents- offense stays on the sideline. .oreover* if they don-t have the ball they can-t score and if they can-t score they can-t win. ork /thic is the !ost i!portant key to have a successful tea! not 0ust an offense. %his is the difference between a good tea! and a great one. ithout a good work ethic you allow lesser opponents to catch up and elite tea!s to get that !uch !ore ahead. /stablishing a great work ethic begins in practice* continues at ho!e* and pays off in ga!es. +n practice you should give it all you got* never take a play off. %he way you practice is the way you play on ga!e night. 1inish everything* including drills* routes* the play* sprints* and tea! huddles at the end of practice. /verything !ust be finished* never start if you don-t intend on finishing. ,ay attention and learn what is being taught. +f you-re not paying attention it-s guaranteed you have so!eone else attention. %hat hurts the tea!. 2ot only do you !iss your assign!ent* so does your tea!!ate. Huddle Procedure
