I n s t a l l a t i o n of all Type Hl v a l v e s and instrument manifolds should be done byqualified personnel. Port connections should be made up tight with a suitable thread sealant or teflon tape to insure a leak free connection. Flow though the single valves may be in either direction. Manifolds should
be connected to correspond with the flow diagmm on the nameplate. 2. Mai ntenance programs are not generally required for this type of valve unless they are in a severe service which demands periodic service, repacking and relubrication of all components of the system. 3. Repair 3.1 3.1.1 Seat replacement, Remove pin adjacent to bonnet of eaking valve. Heavy duty pliers or wire cutters are required 3.1.2 3.1.3 o grip the pin for removal.
Remove bonnet assembly by unscrewing counter clockwise. The valve seat may be pried loose by using a rod of approximately l/8 i n . diameter, inserted into one passage hole of the seat and pressing downward on the other end.
3.1.4
Clean the valve seat cavity and be certain that the indexing pin is in place in the bottom of the seat cavity before inserting the
new seat.
Place the seat in the valve body with the indexing pin
engaged in the notch in the lower edge of the seat. This prevents rotation of the seat and misalignment of the flow passages.

Installation of the bonnet assembly Before installing the bonnet assembly it is essential that the stem be retracted upward into the bonnet. If the stem is in the down position it may contact the bottom of the body before the bonnet is fully screwed down into the body and prevent the sealing s u r f a c e s of the body and bonnet from meeting.
3.2.2
The proper wrenching torque for the bonnet is 35 to 40 foot Ibs., to establish at tight seal.
3.2.3
Replace the pin in one of the two holes adjacent to the bonnet as a safety devise.

If unsuitable for further use the entire bonnet assembly should be replaced. Parts suitable for further use should be thouroughly
lubricated over the threaded area with a grease compatable with the service for which the valve is to be used. Re-assemble p e r drawing on page # 5 3.3,2 )

can be stopped by tightening the pocking nut. If this is not sufficient to stop the leak, the packing may be replaced without removing the valve bonnet assembly. position. The valve may be backseated in the full open
packing nut. The packing after being in use is usually compressed tightly
in the packing nut and must be pried out. When the new packing is installed and the bonnet assembly reassembled the packing nut should be tightened until a seal is established. This usually requires a torque of
