Why do so many want to study the book of Revelation?

Matthew 24:2-3 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. (3) And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? Prophecy: the proclamation of the will of God; both present and future. Prophet: Someone who speaks for God. Given insight from God or even an actual vision. These prophets did not interpret they spoke the actual words that God had given them. Hebrew: {nabi}, from a root meaning to bubble forth, as from a fountain, hence to utter {ro'eh}, seer, and {hozeh}, seer.

Deuteronomy 18:18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. There are two different types of prophecy: 1. Forthtelling: proclaiming the known word and will of God to His people (bible teaching, evangelizing, and revival preaching, urging people to turn from sin and what was at hand if they didnt. 2. Foretelling: predicting the future (these were not the prophets own predictions, 2 Peter 1:20-21 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. (21) For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. Why should we study Prophecy in the Bible? Pure Godly Living: Dont be the dirty house or let feuding cloud your witness. 1 John 3:2-3 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. (3) And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. Hope and Comfort: The best is not of this world, we may suffer great affliction and pain as Christians, but He will come and save us. Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Reminder of the Wrath to Come: For if we do not repent and live for Christ, we will pay the full penalty for our sins. Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; To Give Us Confidence in Gods Character and Sovereignty: Just as a in a movie every single detail is planned nothing is on accident. This is also true for our lives God is in control of every detail. Psalms 103:19 The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.

As Christians we need to study out the knowledge that is available in all prophecy. All Prophecy is a very important part of our lives as followers of Christ. 2 Peter 2:20-21 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. (21) For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
