 FOREWORD

ELO Wetlands and Water Award was created by the European Landowners' Organization and
its partner Euroducks International. It concerns European realisations developed by private
land managers, companies or institutions contributing to the protection, conservation and
sustainable management of water resources and water shaped habitats.
The projects are submitted to a Jury including representatives of scientific bodies and from
European public organisations, private investors as well as a representative from ELO.

Description of the Award

Subject:

ELO Wetlands and Water Award concerns European realisations developed by private land
managers, companies or institutions contributing to the protection, conservation and
sustainable management of water resources and water shaped habitats.

Eligibility criteria:

Conservation importance at the local, national and European level is expected, use of
quality instruments and management practices which contribute to improvement of the
quality of the aquatic environment.

Selection criteria:

• Environmental impact in line with the European Policy

• Economic impact by creation of activity and employment in rural areas
• Sustainability of the realisation
• Innovation and creativity
• Reproducibility of the realisation

Prize description:

The ELO Wetlands and Water Award Certificate will recognize outstanding tools and
management practices contributing to the protection, conservation and sustainable
management of water resources and water shaped habitats.

Deadline:

The call for candidatures is open until the 30th September. Application must be sent to the
