The Da Vinci Code

By: Dan Brown

The Da Vinci Code, a recognized book all over the world. It’s been
the number one bestseller, a novel by Dan Brown. The Da Vinci Code,
the motion picture was based on this novel. Numerous people have
read this novel, and have witness an experience unlike any other. In
this short essay I will be writing regarding the first chapters of The Da
Vinci Code.

At the beginning of the novel in chapter one, it starts with the

awaking of Robert Langdon, a professor on religious symbology. He
wakes up by the ringing of a telephone, so he turns on the light. He
was very puzzled because he had awakened in an unfamiliar room.
This room had furniture from the sixteen century. He said to himself. -
“where am I “? In a bathrobe that was hanging beside this bed, he
saw that it said Hotel Ritz Paris. He answered the telephone and a
man’s voice said “Monsieur Langdon”

There was a man that wanted to talk with him .Basically in this part
it was a man called Lieutenant Jerome Collet from the DCPJ which
comes to be the U.S. FBI. This man told Langdon that his captain
needed of his services .A crime scene had been noticed and needed
someone who could translate some symbols that were in the crime
scene. It was the death of a man called Sauniere. His body in the
crime scene was positioned very awkward way, they wanted to know
what meant all of the cryptograms that had been detected.

It talks about a man named Silas, Silas is this very religious man you
could say, he practices a lot of rituals to pay for his sins. Silas is very
strange because will his skin in the book it mentions that it’s pale and
his eyes are red, at the beginning when it get to the part where it talk
about his life , it says that his father was a very mean man with his
mom . Silas’ dad killed his mom, Silas got really angry that he took a
knife and while his father was drunk in bed, he killed him. Silas ran
away from home and lived in the street until the day he meets
Arigarosa a priest but that’s another story.

When Langdon accepts to go they go to the Louvre Museum in Paris

, that’s where the murder of Sauniere happened when they found him
there he was in the center of the hallway lighten by a light when they
got closer they saw how he was . He was laying down nude just like
the famous drawing of Leonardo Da Vinci “The Vitruvian Man. They
discover more cryptograms and some number and a message that he
had wrote before his death, they call a woman to help them out on
the investigation.

The woman that had been sent from the Agent Sophie Neveu from
DCPJ’s Cryptology Department that apparently knew the Captain
somehow, the captain’s name was Fache.

At this time we are in about chapter eight from here on something

strange happens, well at the opening of the novel somewhere in there
gives the reader the idea that Silas killed Sauniere , it doesn’t say it
this clear but it mentions something about him getting out of the
Louvre museum , so “What was he doing there ?” but It’s a bit strange
someone gave Silas the order to murder Sauniere but It’s a bit hard to
explain because well a lot is happening at this point Right here about
in chapter eleven is where things start to get thrilling , well a lot of
the events that are happening start to make since.

But the thing that’s for sure is that Silas has something to do with
this, hopefully Robert Langdon and Sophie will get more hints about
what really happened in the Louvre museum those hours of darkness
with the murther of Sauniere, things are becoming clearer I believe.
Some of the text in the Novel since the novel is taking place in Paris
there’re some dialogues in French but that’s fine. Now is the part
where I can put in use my knowledge on the French language. The
book is quite fascinating. I think that Dan Brown was very motivated
when he was writing this book, since not a lot of people can write like
this.

I would appreciate for you to keep in mind that this essay was
supposed to be from chapter one I thought that it was going be
somewhat hard to do an two page essay on one chapter so I took the
liberty to write about the most important events the occurred from
chapter one all the way through chapter twelve, But as I said the most
essential things.
