LOVE OF
ALLAH

It was a very calm evening; the sky was decorated with the
sporadic and random patterns of clouds, the sun was gradually
moving below the horizon; a rather perfect day for a person
like me to go for a walk or for a drive or to enjoy the beautiful
nature in the garden nearby. However this evening, these feel-
ings were not present. Two months had passed since I lost my
dear mother yet I still could not help myself to occasionally go
down the memory lane and to cherish the most beautiful mo-
ments of life I had with her...It was natural I thought...I loved
her very much!
That very evening I went to my home garden to lie down,
not to cherish the beauties of nature but to momentarily escape
from this cruel world and to get lost in memories. I tried to
remember each and every moment of my life when my mother
had pampered me, scolded me, told me off, shouted at me, sac-
rificed her own calm and comfort for me, taken care of me
when I had fallen ill…..all to take care of me in the best possi-
ble manner, that no one else in this world could do to me. I am
sure she loved me much!
What’s love? A lot has been written on this topic, some
definitions convergent, others divergent and some vague! I
would not delve into the mysteries of love and would simply
state that Love is different for every person. The feelings, the
intensity, the emotions, the thoughts and actions are all linked
to this single ‘sublime’ feeling of love. It is so powerful and
uncontrollable that, sometimes, it overcomes the person so ve-
hemently that his/her senses start giving in. Even if this feeling
or rather emotion remains in control, inadvertently most of our
actions get influenced by it; the degree of influence may vary
directly with intensity of emotions. Love transforms the whole
equations and frames of references through which we compre-
hend this world!
The memories of the various stages of my life which were
scented with my mother’s love kept flashing in my mind. It
was the joy of these memories that I started remembering all
the people I had lost. I could recall the love and affection of my
grand parents who shared with me the candid details of their
adventures of youth, their lifetime experiences and the tales of
epic folk. I thought this feeling of love is all around me. We all
are linked through it!

Going down the memory lane I could not keep myself with
the limits of time. I started remembering the tales of the
companions of Prophet (PBUH) and their sublime feelings of
love. It was love which had total control over their actions;
their dealings, their daily routine, their dresses, their food and
not to mention their prayers. They loved their Lord with feel-
ings of intensity that knew no bounds! The companions of
Prophet (PBUH) had put everything of theirs at stake, just for
the love of God. They were more concerned about the matters
related to their LORD than the worldly matters.
I was brought to the real life back by the joyous screams of
children playing around in the vicinity. The overpowering
memories had a vital impact on my thought and suddenly I
knew I had missed the bigger picture of love. Lost in the glam-
our of this world I had forgotten the true definitions and limit-
less boundaries of LOVE.
In our lives we cherish the emotion of Love much. We
love everything and everyone who is linked to us; the intensity
of this emotion may vary from likeness to passionate LOVE.
The proof of my statement comes from the fact that we miss
everything and everyone we LOVE. Talking about the bigger
picture of love we all love our Lord too. We pray to him, spend
in his name and observe almost all rituals in His Love, yet, I
feel that we love everything and everyone; mourn the loss of
our belongings and above all our beloved ones but our LORD.
The intensity and limits of our love simply have no comparison
to the people who have set high standards for the Love, i.e. the
companions of Prophet (P.B.U.H). I feel I never came to know
the true meaning of Love….I never loved Allah the way He
wants!

married in November 2006. He has one year old son Moiz-e-
Haider.
He has lectured following courses.
Electric Circuits, Electrical Machines, Power Electronics,
Electronics Systems.
Lecturer Ali Qazalbash has been offered a Doctorate pro-
gram at Georgia Institute of Technology USA and Wisconsin
University USA and he would proceed provided he is funded
by HEC/NUST.
Lecturer Ali Qazalbash believes Faculty Development Pro-
gram should continue for the young teachers. It would help
them in many ways and further improve the University Rank-
ing. In his message to the students he wants the students to
avoid “Chaapa” while making assignments.

SAS CARDS DISTRIBUTION CEREMONY

The annual SAS CARD DISTRIBUTION CEREMONY was held on Thursday, 20th November, 2008 at the ASG Lecture Hall,
Electrical block. The Patron, Brigadier Dr. Akhtar Nawaz along with the SAS Sports Advisors Major Arsalan and Captain
Asad were in attendance. The ceremony was kicked off by an introductory speech by none other than our own NS Saad Akhtar.

Prizes for the 2nd Super Six Cricket Tournament were handed out by the Patron. The winning team Ladoo 29 (Mechanical
29) and the runners up Jheega Jheega (Electrical 28) were handed out the trophies and the prize money. The individual awards
of Man of the Tounament and Highest scorer were presented to NS Saad Akhtar (Electrical 28) where as the Leading Wicket
taker award was given to Jahangir Afzal (PA to CI). The award for the Man of the Final was given to GC Ali Masood
(Computer 29).
Next, the winners of the Band Rung tournament, NS Rehan Zahid (Mechanical 27) and NS Muhammad Mohsin
(Mechanical 27) and the runners up NS Awad Ahmed (Mechanical 28) and NS Saad Ahmed Ghauri (Mechanical 27) were an-
nounced. Followed by the prize distribution, the patron and the advisors presented the appointment cards to the President, Vice
President and the respective General Secretaries. Brig. Akhtar Nawaz then shared his wisdom and experience with the mem-
bers encouraging them to energetically participate in all college co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The cards to the
deputies, coordinators and assistants of all the wings were presented by the respective General
Secretaries. Once again the administrative and organizational strength of SAS was reflected in this event.

BAND RUNG TOURNAMENT

This magnificent event arranged by SAS came as the opening event of the semester after the summer vacations by the Indoor
Wing. The best part of the tournament was that there was arrangement of Bar-B-Q, drinks and Music so that participants could
enjoy themselves. The number of teams which participated in the event was 16. They were divided in 4 pools, each comprising
of 4 teams. Each team consists of 2 players.
After the interesting pool matches, 2 top teams from each pool were taken out so that they could compete in the quarter finals.
The 4 winning teams of the Quarter Finals gave birth to two semi final matches.The 1st semi final was played between the teams
of NS Saad Zafar & NS Ahsan Khan and NS Muhammad Mohsin (Mehcanical 27) & NS Rehan Zahid (Mechanical 27). The 2nd
semi final was fought between the teams of NS Awad Ahmed (Mechanical 28) & NS Saad Ahmed Ghauri (Mechanical 27) and
NS Umer Munir (Computer 28) & NS Rana Athar (Mechatronics 27)
The mechanical guys proved their mettle and hit it off with their hammer because the teams that triumphantly reached the finals
belonged to mighty mechanical which were NS Muhammad Mohsin (Mehcanical 27)& NS Rehan Zahid (Mechanical 27) and

“EME College Library…Intel Outside”

If you ever find enough spare time or have your computer at home broken down, then why not check out what the library
computing facilities have to offer? For centuries libraries have been the hubs of distributing and archiving knowledge. The public
library of New York gives users access to a world of information at astounding speeds. All around the world libraries serve as the
cradle for great leaders, speakers and revolutionaries. Why then should our sacred EME be left behind?

Computing at EME has always been a ride in the wild. Thirty or so colossal G.R.T screens line up the wall-attached tables
of the library. Of course it is 2008 and LCD screens will not be invented for another thirty years or so… The world’s 376th uni-
versity( NUST) propagates instant (within seconds) access to all of the world’s greatest research publications. That does not how-
ever include the 376 seconds it takes for the computer to start.

A typical visit for a student visiting the library to complete his home assignment transgresses as follows: “After
“registering” his textbooks with library staff, he drags a chair in front of a screen. I say drag again because the wheel hasn’t been
invented either( this trend follows for almost all the chairs in EME, by the way). The screen manifests a glamorous “Windows
XP” logo in front of his eyes as he maneuvers the mouse to display the desktop. Hours later, it finally happens and he is prompted
for a username and a password. Note that the password isn’t listed anywhere, and what better way to make an access public by
safeguarding access by a password that no one knows. Nevertheless, there he is, finally managing to download the required files
he stares at the zebra lurking in the background. Of course what is more relevant to fourier analysis and micro controllers than a
zebra in Botswana? He finds and reads the download time for his 400KB(Yes, KB)-43 hours and 21 minutes. ‘WOW’ he ex-
claims, being interrupted by one of the library staff:”Sir, it’s time to shut down the library”.
“But its only 8pm” the student replies.
“And that is when we close. Have you ever seen a library that opens past 8pm?

Disappointed, the student departs, with the prospect of returning tomorrow, hoping the situation improves…

Charity Concert at EME
DE 29 MECH VISITS KSB
PUMPS
On 22nd November 2008 , DE 29 Mech Engg
visited KSB Pumps, HasanAbdal under the
supervision of Mr Akhtar Khurshid. The stu-
dents had a chance to see the casting processes
on large scale. They also saw various machin-
ing processes. On the whole it was great learn-
ing for the students.

Engineer Ali Qazalbash
Mr. Ali Qazalbash is a lecturer in the department of
Electrical Engineering. He is generally known as Power Elec-
tronics Master and is about to be Assistant Professor. The
editor Campbuzz NS Malik Basharat interviewed the honor-
able lecturer and he responded as follows.
Mr. Ali Qazalbash did his F.Sc from Edwards College
Peshawar in1996. Under the umbrella of UET Peshawar he did his BE in Electrical Engi-
neering from CECOS Institute Peshawar. He holds foreign MS Degree in Electrical
Power Engineering Systems with specialization in Renewable Electrical Systems from
Manchester University UK in 2004. He has two international publications and his two
research papers are in the process of peer review.
Placement office EME College also belongs to Mr. Ali Qazalbash. He has been
working in close collaboration with the leading local and multinational companies to se-
cure internships/jobs for the students of the college. He has been instrumental in conduct-
ing Open House Job Fair annually. He has also been busy in arranging industrial visits.
He has been organizing tests for induction into various industries at the campus. He is
also the sports officer of the department of electrical engineering.
Lecturer Ali Qazalbash joined College of E&ME in2005. Earlier he worked with Air
Coordination System in UK for a year. He has remained associated with WAPDA at
WARSIK DAM. His abilities were also utilized by Microchip. Here Dr Mujeeb Bin Ihsan
has been constantly inspiring him. Continued on Page 5
A Charity concert was organized by the
students of the College of E&ME under
the banner of ‘Lets MAKE A DIFFER-
ENCE’ campaign to help the earth-
quake victims of Balochistan in the
College Auditorium. A sum of
Rs. 18000/- was collected and the
cheque was presented to the Comman-
dant EME. Maj Gen Muhamamd Sha-
hid appreciated the efforts of the stu-
dents.
BEST BOWLER OF THE SUPER
SIXES CRICKET TOURNAMENT
Sep Jeahangir Afzal (Runner of Dy Comdt)
was declared the best bowler of the tournament.
He got the most wickets and his furious spells
helped his team “Butt Six” to make a place in
the semi final of the tournament. Well Done !
