Turn Yeast into a Mosquito Killing Army!(himuon ang pampaalsa laban sa lamok) Mosquitoes are drawn to CO2.

Yeast create CO2. So, use yeast to draw mosquitoes into a trap. I heard about this tip somewhere and thought Id share it with you. It cleverly uses yeasts carbon-dioxide bi-product to trick mosquitoes into going into a bottle. Since mosquitoes are also drawn to heat, you can paint the bottle black to make it extra temping. This is a very natural and eco-friendly pest control. You can just use some old bread yeast, although some spent beerbrewing trub (pronounced TROOBE) will work awesomely too. Ang lamok ay nagakaattract sa carbon dioxide. Ang pampaalsa ay nagahimo sang carbon dioxide. Dapat gamiton naton ang pampaalsa para magkadto ang lamok sa patibong. Since ang lamok ay humahaling sa mainit, pwede mapintahan ang botelya sang itom para mas maakit pa ang lamok. Mabulig ini para mabuhinan ang lamok kag makabulig man ini sa aton palibot.

Mosquitos Trapped in a 2-Liter Bottle

Items needed (gamit nga kinahanglan)

1 2-liter soda bottle ( 1 duwa ka litro nga botelya) Scissors (gunting) 1 cup of water ( isa ka tasa sang tubig) 1/4 cup of sugar (white or brown) (1/4 nga tasa sang kalamay puti o kayumanggi) 1 teaspoon of yeast (isa ka kutsarita sang pampaalsa)

Steps ( ang hakbang) 1. Cut the plastic bottle in half. ( tungaon ang plastic nga botelya)

2. Mix sugar with hot tap water. When cool, pour in the bottom half of the bottle. ( isamuon ang kalamay kag malabaab nga tubig. Kung magbugnaw, i ula sa tunga nga dalom.)

3. Add the yeast when the water is cool. No need to mix. Yeast eat sugar, and then creates carbon dioxide which attracts mosquitoes. ( edugang ang pampaalsa kung ang tubig mabugnaw na. indi na pagsamuon. Ginakaon sang pampaalsa ang kalamay kag gahimo sang carbon dioxide nga gakaattract sang lamok.)

4. Place the funnel part, upside down, into the other half of the bottle. You can tape them if you want. ( ibutang ang parte sang botelya nga daw embudo nga pasuli. Pwede man itipan kung gusto)

5. (optional) Paint the bottle, or wrap it with something black, leaving the top uncovered. The black will absorb more heat during the day. Both the yeast and mosquitoes like it warm. (opsyonal- I pintahan ang botelya o iputson sang itom kag bilinan ang babaw nga indi pagtabunan. Ang itom naga sisip sang init kung aga. Ang pampaalsa ka gang lamok mas gusto init) 6. Place the trap along the edges of your yard.(ibutang ang patibong sa higad nga kung diin damo lamok)

Maintenance (Every Few Weeks) (pampanatili) Add some more cooled sugar water every 2 weeks so the yeast has something to eat. If there are a lot of dead mosquitoes, and or the liquid looks especially nasty, spray it out and start over. (dugangan sang mabugnaw nga kalamay taga 2 ka semana para ang pampaalsa may makaon. Kung damo na sang patay nga lamok, o kung ang tubig mahigko, ulaon kag maghimo liwat)
