CONNECT TIME If you could invent something that doesnt exist yet, what would it be? THE BIG QUESTION (TO DISCUSS IN YOUR KDGS) 1. When can you worship God? 2. Why do you worship God? 3. How can we worship God every day? ACTIVITY SHEETS Children complete the Activity Sheets in this time. THE BIG ACTIVITY Purpose: To remind the children that you can worship God with everything you are and everything you do. Directions: Help them to draw on the clock what they do at different times of the day, and talk with them about how they can worship God during those activites. Explanation: We can worship God with everything we are and everything we do. Worshippers love God all the time and can praise Him all throughout their day. THE BIG WORD Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the rst and greatest commandment. Matthew 22:37-38 (NIV) Say the verse aloud one section at a time, and ask the children to repeat after you. Do this a number of times each time using a different funny voice. For example, say it loud, whispered, in slow motion, low and deep or high and squeaky. GAME Housework Hockey Players sit along the sidelines of the play area. When their number is called players run to the centre, dress themselves with the apron and then use the broom to push the puck towards their teams goal. When the teams get the puck through the legs of the chair, (their goals) they receive 1 point for their team. The players then sit down and the leader can call another number. The leader can make the game more challenging by calling out another number mid-play, and the players must drop their brooms, pass on the aprons and new players take over. PRAYER Dear God, Thank you for who you are. You are good, you are holy, you are mighty and you are worthy to be praised. Help us to love you more and more every day. Thank you that we can worship you with every part of our lives. SN1.1 Older In Jesus name, Amen. 2010 Hillsong Church

THE BIG QUESTION (TO DISCUSS IN YOUR KDGS) 1. What are some choices that you make each day that can, over time, have a big impact on your life? 2. Why should we honour God with our choices? 3. When you have a choice to make, how do you know what will honour God? ACTIVITY SHEETS complete the Activity Sheets in this time. THE BIG ACTIVITY Purpose: To show the children that our choices can have a big impact on our lives and the lives of others. Directions: Play a games of naughts and crosses (Tic Tac Toe). Ask the children to sit in pairs and give them a page with game squares on it. One child is to place naughts on the board and the other places crosses. They take turns with the rst to have 3 in a row being the winner. Explanation: Discuss with the children that where they choose to place their naught or cross affects the outcome of the game. In life we make choices every day and making the right choices that honour God helps us to have a great life. THE BIG WORD Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the rst and greatest commandment. Matthew 22:37-38 (NIV) Write the verse on a large sheet of paper and say it aloud as a group. Next tear off a section of the verse and say the verse aloud again. Keep tearing of sections until the group can say the verse without reading any of the words.

GAME Smile - The aim of the game is to only smile when it is your turn to do so. Seat the whole group in a big circle. Choose a child to begin the game by smiling at each of the other players. While everyone else has kept a straight face they use their hand to wipe the smile from their own face and pretend to throw it to another player. The player that catches the smile puts it on their face and, after a few moments, passes it onto another child. Anyone who smiles when it is not their turn is out of the game. Children that are out can try and make the remaining players smile by doing something silly or making funny faces. The last child to keep a straight face is the winner of the game. PRAYER Dear God, Thank you that you want the best for us and give us instructions in your Word of how we can have a great life. Help us to make choices that honour you and show you our love. We want to put your rst in our lives. In Jesus name, Amen SN1.2 Older

THE BIG QUESTION (TO DISCUSS IN YOUR KDGS) 1. What are some things you can praise God for? 2. Has there ever been a time when you didnt really feel like praising God, but you did anyway? 3. What happens to our problems when we focus on God? ACTIVITY SHEETS complete the Activity Sheets in this time. THE BIG ACTIVITY Purpose: To show the children that small things can seem very big when thats all we focus on. We focus on our problems instead of on how BIG God is. Directions: Using the pictures supplied, children will try and guess what the picture is of, when all they can see is a close up section of it. Hold up each picture and invite the children to guess what it is. Once they think they have it, show them the complete picture. Explanation: When we focus only on our problems they can take up our whole view, we cant see anything else, only that problem. We begin to think that our problem is bigger than it actually is. THE BIG WORD Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the rst and greatest commandment. Matthew 22:37-38 (NIV) Big Word Popcorn! Have the children sit in a circle. Choose one child to stand in the centre. The child in the centre will point to one child at a time, and when they do that child can say the rst word of the verse. The next child pointed to says the next word and so on. See how fast you can pop the words, getting faster and faster each time, just like popcorn popping.

GAME Sock Siege - Have the children stand in a large circle and select two players to be blindfolded. They will be given a pair of rolled up socks which they will try to throw at the other blindfolded player. Each player will be allocated a helper who will retrieve the sock ball and give it back to them to keep throwing. Before the siege begins spin the blindfolded players to disorient them. The rest of the group cannot touch or guide the players, but they can cheer them on. The rst player to hit their opponent is the winner. Play more rounds with new players and helpers each time. PRAYER Dear God, You are so amazing and no matter what, you deserve our praise. Thank you for what you do in our lives, and help us to always focus on you and not on ourselves.
